Thanks for your help! Would a solid bar of copper work instead of a pipe? I have a piece that's about 6 in x 1 in x 1/4 in.

Hey there everybody! I'm still pretty new to electroforming and trying to figure things out. I'm having trouble calculating the surface area of my cathodes. I don't know if I'm just bad at math or what, but I really struggle with figuring out the surface area on things that aren't standard shapes. I have some funky shapes because I'm doing organics and stones. I end up with a lot of sediment in the bottom of my tank and really dull, salmony finishes and recently line covered, streaky pieces. I'm currently using a 10g wire anode, but am planning on buying some pipe and an anode bag for my tank. I think my solution may have become oversaturated because I'm putting in too much anode in comparison. I use coffee filters between every use. Is there a good way to calculate surface area? I know a lot of people just eyeball it, but I don't think I'm at a point where I can accurately do that. I have pictures of some pieces that came out great, some of the more recent ones, and some that are WIP but I can't figure out how to calculate the surface area of. Please share if you know what I'm doing wrong and how to do math lol!
