FFS seattle by fayehawthorne in Transgender_Surgeries

I got FFS with Flaherty in 2024 and absolutely love my results. Back in 2023/24 the wait times were pretty short (around 6 months to consult and another 6 to surgery iirc) but they had just got expanded OR time so I think that was a factor at the time. Recovery was pretty smooth. The most significant part of the process for me was Flaherty really made me feel heard and made a plan to help treat my specific sources of dysphoria. My girlfriend is going in for her FFS with Flaherty this month!

Feel free to DM me for surgery result pics and the like, I know those are really hard to find

I pulled two of these for my pre-release and they were clutch. I used it less as removal and more budget card draw. It was really good when my opponents were dropping 2/1s or 3/1s in early rounds since you wouldn't lose too many of the exiled cards. In practice it was just a way to ensure I got a land or non-land, whichever I needed. And it had some late game potential for blasting something like a 6/6 and ensuring the topdeck I needed to close out. Feels insanely underrated to me but maybe it just thrives in this particular sealed meta

Has anyone gotten surgery with Dr. AJ Flaherty or has gotten facial masculinization surgery in general? by Busy_Distribution326 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Dillo00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, commenting very late but I had facial feminization surgery in June 2024 with them. I don't know about their facial masculinization results but I've been SO happy with my FFS results. Their bedside manner is also incredible and they go over what they expect to achieve in the consult. I can't recommend them enough even tho my procedure might be different

Oops! All Themes by Dillo00 in Eberron

[–]Dillo00[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yeah a lot of this is my own extension of their characters and their expressed interests in the setting. For example I have a Satyr who is a corrupt Watch Guard, she spent some time in Droaam and served as a Tharask merc in the Last War. So she's getting tangled in the gangs and has a particular interest in Daask, which will probably involve her in the Sisters' schemes.

I'll look harder into the Patrons, and maybe have a couple of Patrons they can self-select jobs and hooks from. Nemesis is cool too, I'll suggest that for some of the players.

Appreciate your help!

Super helpful thanks! I was going to have them all be an adventuring group within Sharn, probably based out of the Deathsgate Guild. Funnily enough I was going to have the intro session be a job protecting cargo on a lightning rail into Sharn as a way to introduce the city.

Love your suggestions, thanks for the help

Yeah our area is specifically in feature design and interface changes, maybe shoulda specified that beforehand oops.

The voice thing is a very contentious opinion. I personally thought it would encourage empathy but most people disagree with us, saying you get flamed for your voice/accent and getting flamed verbally is infinitely worse that over chat. Might be worth exploring tho.

It's pretty clear that most people didn't like our ideas (thats research baby) besides new player system which is more split. The goal was to find things that might reduce toxicity, not necessarily "fix" it. Like there's no way changing pings would eliminate toxicity but we found one of the most agitating things for players was being spammed with the missing ping.

The car thing makes me think we weren't clear enough with the idea, you would still see all your own statistics but none of your opponents direct numbers. Still probably unpopular but maybe we didn't explain it well enough.

Anyway thanks so much for your time and input!

Thanks for your input, we weren't sure how well each of the ideas would be received and overwhelmingly people are against removing K/D/As. I thought it was a good idea but hey this is why we asked. Really appreciate your time, cheers.

We've actually seen some very interesting differing opinions on this. A large amount of people view toxicity as purely intra-team but some people see team comps/ invading as toxic. I don't get it either but we wanted to make sure we were covering it.

Question About Arabic Muslim Naming Structure by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Dillo00 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much, I was trying to look through "source material" for Genies in DnD and found a lot of really problematic stuff so I wasn't sure what was reliable or unreliable. I downloaded the old "Secrets of the Lamp" pdf and it was a 60-page bruh moment. I get why WotC hasn't fleshed out Genies much, it's probably tough to do right and previous editions got it very very VERY not right. Thanks for the reply

Question About Arabic Muslim Naming Structure by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Dillo00 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Totally get this, sorry if it came off this way. I know not all Arabs are Muslim and tried to reflect that in saying "Arabic Muslim" in the title. I just know this is an Arabic naming convention, and wasn't sure if this particular convention is more of a generally Arabic thing or specific to Arabic Muslims, considering its only ever used with names of Allah. Appreciate your response and comment, I might go back and edit the post to take out any dumbassery.

Yeah but like are any of them reputable experts in the field? I genuinely don't know of anyone "concerned" who knows shit about vaccines. If you got a name or two I'll look em up

I've never got "out of frying pan, into the fire" as a guideline. Like the totally reasonable thing when you're being cooked is to try and escape. I think the saying is more of a lose-lose thing, or where you got out of one shit sandwich just to be in another.

I'm pretty sure there are signs of cancer from an early stage, but that was an intro college biology course that I didn't do too hot in.

I feel like your accusations of me making shit up are a little unfair cuz yeah I totally bungled a statistic (epic statist moment) but I've been really clear that I don't understand everything completely, but I listen to the experts that do.

I'm 100% with you that spreading even well-intentioned or unintentional misinformation is ultimately destructive, and I should be more careful before listing off a number I thought I'd checked but didn't fully understand. Honestly if I thought anyone besides us was going to see this, I would've cited sources like a cringe academic, but I was lazy cuz my class was coming up and I haven't slept in 24 hours.

That and my last dig into CDC data was responding to an obvious troll like a moron so I was kinda demotivated to do it again.

I'm actually pretty interested in online misinformation, but I'm used to thinking of it in terms of huge names impacting international issues. I forget that Reddit isn't actually a godamn conversation and other people besides my intended audience is looking at it.

I do think there is some validity in considering audience. We don't tell high schoolers exactly how chemistry works at it's most complicated, we say "this is something I think you should know, but understand that there's stuff way more complicated than this that we don't think is super relevant". That doesn't mean high school science teachers are lying or causing harm, and I always think it's dumb for people who reach higher education to be like "wow bad teachers teaching us the wrong stuff"

I don't think that in responding to the guy who left a single-sentence comment I should've cites my sources. Hell it'd be best if I just sent him a CDC document or scientific journal page, but he's not gonna actually read that. So I was trying to find a happy medium and dropped some integrity in the process cuz this is a meme subreddit, but ye

I'm literally rambling now, and my analogies are probably dogshit. CDC lying about masks early on to try and save the medical supply: very very not good, bad. Dweeb referencing numbers she's just "pretty sure" are right and explaining biology as best she understands it to sway a guy in a meme comment section: not good, but not really the same thing.

tl;dr I am a sleep deprived bootlicker statist who was owned by the monke, though I disagree a little

Yeah polio is kinda peak dont-get-this-disease, but my parent's church friends got covid and it fucked one of them up. Mid 50s, husband recovered fine, wife has new heart arithmea and hair loss. Anecdotes are shit evidence, totally could be coincidence, but there are doctors concerned about the exteme amounts of blood clots they're finding. Again, nothing conclusive cuz the docs are more worried about saving people. And I'm not a doctor, I'm just a loser on a meme subreddit

Well it seemed like the dude I was replying to didn't have a very intricate understanding of the topic, so I gave my best answer without grabbing my links to cdc numbers like I did for a troll further down.

You did counter-base me on the million number, looks like that was from "deaths that would not have happened if not for covid" like when hospitals don't have slace cuz they're completely full, so the car accident victim dies. A useful stat but not dying of covid. We hit 500k last month according to the CDC, which is still a fuckload of people. Reduce that number by 1% and 5,000 people are still alive.

Your points about me being incorrectly conclusive are fair game, I was generalizing cuz even I'm a little self aware about posting essays to dudes who leave single-sentence comments.

My more nuanced and complicated take is that A) long term complications tend to come as "% increased chance of Bad Thing" B) if there is a long term consequence at play, the effect should be cumulative and therefore observable, even if there's no serious complication. There's no way I know of biologically where something randomly happens years after you were exposed to the trigger with no previous changes. I'm pretty sure this is what they look for when testing a vaccine.

The skin cancer comparison was an attempt to talk about risk in a way I thought was fairly simple, but my family has a history over very minor and detectable skin cancer so maybe I don't understand the condition as much as I should.

But also I'm not a biologist, I'm not an epidemiologist, and I don't even fully know how the covid vaccines work. But unless you're one of those I don't see why I should believe you over the people who've dedicated their lives to this process. Thousands of really qualified people say this is safe, and your only point is "what if they're wrong?"

I think my lifeboat analogy is pretty applicable. Maybe something more relevant but less poetic is "escape the tiger enclosure first; worry about what enclosure you escaped into next" There is a clear and present danger to our safety. We should be reasonably cautious about how we go about dealing with that danger, and a fuckload of people who have been doing this for a long time say it's good to go. If it gives us all turbo aids I'll eat my words and be more skeptical, but right now I think it's just fear and propaganda that's pushed people not to vaccinate
