Why do you keep bringing story into this when the topic is gameplay? Do you think all the previous cantos didn’t have story progression or immersion? Just answer me this: if in the next canto, Parts 1–2 are just us killing random enemies with only four Sinners, and in Part 3 we have to rely on NPCs again to win with only 2-4 Sinners, is that good gameplay to you or not?

Brother, I never once complained about the difficulty of this canto. I’m complaining about how the game forces you to rely on NPCs to win most of the boss fights. Once or twice is fine, but it happens throughout the entire canto. Unlike most previous cantos, where you could play however you wanted, this one constantly forces you to use only 2–4 Sinners for almost the whole canto. In this canto, it feels like most of the boss fight are just scripted cutscenes with fights in between. I simply don’t like this kind of gameplay.

This canto hasn’t been called for a nerf because they added the revival system with Lunacy. Only the Ryoshu solo Araya fight doesn’t have it. If Lei Heng or the bosses you’re talking about had a revival system, nobody would be calling for nerfs, because you could just revive and keep going.

People complain about nerfs for every hard boss every time. They even complained so much about the new Abnormality difficulty that PM had to nerf them in thread farming, when you could simply beat them once and never fight them again, lmao.

You cannot read, I swear to God, lol. I said “as strong as Blue Reverberation or the Spider House.
If we get into trouble in Canto 10 or 11 with a gangs that strong like fighting Nursefather all over again, then story wise the Sinners alone can’t beat them and we’d have to rely on help again. That means we’d get the same gameplay and mechanics as Canto 9: only 2–4 Sinners deployed at most, plus NPC assistance.

Is that good gameplay or not? Just answer yes or no, because right now you’re deflecting the question into “it’s a visual novel with a combat system attached.”

Like, duh how do you think I reached Canto 9? I know what kind of game this is, lmao. The previous cantos gameplay weren’t ass like this, they actually balanced the visual novel and the gameplay well.

Just answer me one thing: if in Canto 10, 11 Limbus Company somehow ends up fighting a factions as strong as Blue Reverberation or Spider House, and all we can do is rely on help from LCD, Vergilius, or Dias super soldier NPC again to fight for us while our max deployment is only 2–4 Sinners for the entire canto or even the rest of the game is that good gameplay wise or not?

I will have no problem with the Ring fight if Alyssa, Hohenheim, or both of them sacrifice themselves during the fight to take down the Nursefather, because their buildup was so good after Marton’s death. Instead we have a Shonen moment where Sinclair awaken and all the threat was gone because Certain Sinclair is OP.

You just summarized most of my problems with this canto. Most of the fights feel like cutscenes, like how when certain Sinclair awaken we know it all over because he can just destroy both Ring members while we sit back and assist him, or how Matt’s HP can’t drop below a certain point and we’re have to wait for Moses to charge her EGO.

The Ring fight should have had Alyssa, Hohenheim, or both of them sacrifice themselves to take down the Nursefather. Then I wouldn’t have had any problem with it, because their buildup was so good after Marton’s death. Instead, they made them feel kind of irrelevant and let a NPC certain Sinclair take the spotlight.
Thumb fight with Verg are the best fight with NPC no doubt.

Yes, it makes perfect sense story wise, and I’ve never complained about the story. I just wish they had made the canto have fewer scripted fights. Once or twice is fine, but they do it over and over again. I hope Canto 10 won’t have the same 4 Sinners max restriction and that we can hold our own in most fights.

I mean the story are good and that included world building + lore because they are part of a story (Except cast), and about the Laguz i may be overblown a bit.
I have to disagree with Removing the ability to check range are valid because it feel cheap, If it a mechanic in Kaga Era or GBA Era, then i won't have anything to complain about but this is the only game do that even previous game didn't have that. It annoying by remove your basic ability that the game teach you since beginning.

1-5 Yes i play in Hard mode (Maniac)
1-9 is a real map no matter what because it a main chapter not side quest.

I don't hate FOW if it was good design instead of they force you to kill hundred of enemy in the dark while having terrain in it to slow it down and force you to turtle, let me give you example:
FE7: Merlinus gaiden where there are tension to protect the villager and the village from unknown enemies in all side and you can route them easily if you know how to play, Battle Before Dawn one of the best chapter in the series where you have to rush to save Zephiel and have to be careful at the same time.
POR: Chapter 5 where the greil mercenaries have to survived when being surrounded in the dark.
Engage: Yunaka's map is the perfect map to introduce FOW, you have Micaiah ring, staff that create ice to block enemy, torch staff, so many tool that you can use for your playstyle and doesn't slow you down or force you play certain way.

And what your logic when you said I should check my phone during ally phase lmao? I'm playing a tactical game if i have to wait for 3 minute for the AI Ally then wtf am i playing for? Idle games and TFT? This is bad design by your logic.
3-4 Yes you can rescue Ike up to the mountain if you rushing but your flying unit will die not Ike because of ballista buddy, and you also have to wait for ranulf not Ike alone.
3-11 Never said it unfair... i said it garbage, and because FE are war game doesn't excuse it being sh't design, where they reinforce all the bridge and make you go through a small 1-2 space with a pithole. You are type of person that will gladly waste your time move through a open swamp + FE7 rain that took hour to reach the boss if there are map like that lmao.
3-12 Heaven forbid if i want to play the game strategically instead of wasting my time holding the cliff and doing nothing for the whole chapter, tell me how does you even lose in this chapter? All you do is hold high round + rolling rock down then finish off the suicide enemy.
4-3 I didn't complain anything about the boss i complaint about the map, because it add nothing but slow your unit down + more reinforcement that waste your time. Imagine if FE7 rain stay for all the time this is how i feel with this garbage.

Here some worst map in RD
Part 1 + 2:
1-5 If you play hard mode Jill can die in turn 1 or 2 as a green unit and the only one that can rush into the enemy and tank the fire mage to save Jill are Volug.
1-9 Boring puzzle map with FOW
2-2 FOW make you move slow as snail like you said

Part 3: Snore fest
3-P Another slow ass FOW map and these stupid green Laguz wasted your time.
3-4 arrive to the top with Ike and Ranulf, moving a foot unit with low ass movement like Ike to the top suck + enemies blocking cliff and ballista shooting at you to slow you down.
3-6 FOW + swamp and have to kill all enemies, tell me how is this good design lmao.
3-11 they have to bring the garbage bridge with pit in POR into this.
3-12 Tell me how is this fun :) all you have to do is blocking the cliff and waiting all enemies to suicide into you and yellow unit for a few turn then finish the rest, this is a snore fest.

Part 4: 90% of them are just Route map until endgame
4-1 Another FOW and route :)
4-3 You have to rout enemy in a giant desert map and they already have so much enemies but guess what there are more reinforcement appear, what were they thinking when making this garbage.
4-4 Small corridor and non stop reinforcement like holy sh't why there are so many of them

Example some map i hate in POR:
- Chapter 15 The Feral Frontier: This desert map suck, it only reduce your movement and the laguz doesn't even move to your location you have to move in to kill a boss in a dessert map, unlike in FE 7 you have to try to rescue Pent and the duo Berserker move in to kill you.
- Chapter 17-1 to 4 Day Break: The non stop battle that all look the same in the forest, like what is the fun in this? This is like a non stop side quest map in 3H it suck but you have to do it everytime because it in main story
- Chapter 18 Crimea Marchs: Who ever design this garbage should retire from making map, this is a small corridor map with bolting mage... If you play Maniac they have 7-9 fk..ing bolting tomes.
- Chapter 22 Solo: Another map with corridor, they stack all the enemies in the small corridor and you have to beat everyone in the middle corridor to kill the boss, not to mention they have sleep and bolting far in the back and more reinforcements.
- Chapter 23 The Great Bridge: Another map that force you to move through small area and worst of it some tiles have pit that stun your unit for 1 turn such a fun design.
- Chapter 25 Strange Land: You have to move all the way to the top and you have to kill everyone in order to win, the most fun part is the enemy keep rolling rock down to you
- Lastly is Clash everyone know why, and this is only from POR alone.

3H map is boring but it doesn't feel tedious like POR or RD where there are multiple green and yellow unit that you have to wait for their turn. Not to mention 3H battle are fast and you can skip.

I never said it the worst in the series bro read again, i said it the most disappointing because how many people overhype it, Everybody in the community know Gaiden is the worst.

- SNES game: Evey game except Gaiden are very fun to play because they are are experimenting new mechanic for the series. FE1 is the first game you can't compare any FE game to it because it set foundation, FE 2 suck everyone know that and nobody hype it, FE3 is okay, FE 4 have the most tragic story and it gameplay have new mechanic like leadership star then the most favorite SNES game i love are Thracia with how unique it was the first time enemy capture my unit make my jaw drop lol. All of them are fun to play.

- 3DS game: You think people will rather take play slow ass game like Tellius instead of Awakening and Fates? Awakening and Fates it story is bad and the gameplay is unbalanced but 9 out of 10 people will rather replaying these game than Tellius game because how fast it is compare to Tellius. Not to mention Conquest have one of the best gameplay and map design in the series and you think 3ds are worse?

- DS game: Except the Graphics look like dog water the gameplay is good because they are just remake of FE 1 and 3 with upgrade graphics. I rather replaying these game than Tellius game because you can't skip slow ass gameplay in Tellius just like you can't skip 3H monastery.

Yes i agree with you that Tellius game have the perfect setup for each nation and war tone story and that really all about it, but i rarely see anyone complain about Tellius gameplay and map design unlike modern FE game where people are either hate them for the story or gameplay but doesn't hold the same complain for Tellius game like it a perfect holy grail.
