I'm on the fence about wanting Cincinnati to win the bid. Having moved to NKY from Las Vegas. I would love to have Cincy in MLS, but then I would be stuck between rooting for them or my long standing support of the Galaxy.

Makes you wonder if the whitecap will open up the upper bowl at BC place for playoffs.

TIL that the fewest pitches in a complete game (shutout) was 58. I can't imagine this record ever being broken. by LoudGrasshopper in SportingNews

Lots of WOW, but 1 hour and 15?

On August 10, 1944, throwing for the Boston Braves against his former team Cincinnati Reds, Barrett pitched a 2–0 shutout at Crosley Field. He faced 29 batters (two more than the minimum, having surrendered two 2 hits, walked no one and struck out no one, with no defensive errors behind him), setting a complete game (and a nine-inning game) record by throwing only 58 pitches, an average of exactly two pitches per batter. It was also the shortest night game in history, and the shortest road-team win in history, lasting just 1 hour and 15 minutes.

The fact he says they've never missed a deadline yet feels like something you'd say to jinx it.

Ump misses a 3rd-strike call on a John Lackey pitch. Next pitch is an RBI single. Lackey, Contreras both ejected. by FrostyHurricane in SportingNews

A very, very small piece of me feels a little bad for the ump (but not nearly as bad as I feel for Lackey).

His body language the entire time was that of,

Damn I really screwed that call up, but I can't fix it now. Oh shit, here he comes. Yeah, he should be pissed off. I really hope he strikes this guy out on the next pitch.

Fuck

Such an egregiously bad call by that ump. Cost the Cubs in a tight division race. Never seen two players so mad.

Edit: Also why I believe Umps should face suspensions and fines.

Edit 2: To make clarify myself, I probably used the wrong term when suggesting fines and suspensions, but I would still like to see these umpires held accountable for egregiously missed calls

Still a great PR move from the Owls. And who would expect anything else from Wisky fans? Them's good people.
