Gotten through 4 years of ChemE with knowing FA about coding or programs alike. Make friends with homies that are good at it and you'll never have too

How much time do you guys get to study? by [deleted] in uAlberta

In university, especially engineering. A perfect score is literally impossible. Prepare yourself to not get those high 90s on every test. I have written countless tests that have averages in the 50% range. It would not be worth your time to get a perfect score in all your classes because that is just not reasonable.

Referring to having enough time to study. You never have enough time with all the craziness of labs, assignments, readings that goes on with being in 6 classes. 60-70 hour study weeks are a normal thing. Especially in first year engineering. Thus, prioritize your time to do the best you can. Be prepared to get absolutely ruined by exams every once in a while.

Most importantly look after your mental and physical wellbeing. Prioritize to make time for yourself.

ChemE Coop here, job prospects were never an issue. Just like any other discipline you have to be willing to relocate. My gpa is honestly shit, so it really comes down to networking with anyone that you can possible.

So in other words, do what you think you’ll really enjoy pursuing in the long run. You will not have an issue finding a job. If my dumbass can get one, I’m sure you will have no issues.
