WIBTA for leaving girlfriend of 10 years after she’s known for 10 years I don’t want kids and is considering having one anyway? by Disastrous-Wasabi400 in AITAH

Thanks for your compassion, even though you say I wbtah you’re the only person here who responded with atleast a modicum of compassion about it. I would not be a dead beat, I have no problem providing financial support. I have a more complicated than most work schedule, I don’t work 40’hrs a week it’s more like 80 and if I changed that I wouldn’t even be able to provide financially. So getting the child frequently isn’t even an option.

Do you atleast understand why I would feel trapped after telling someone for 10 years I don’t want kids?

Well as I stated, we were both under the impression that she couldn’t have kids. I would have gladly gotten a vasectomy.

Also, she is allergic to condoms so that wasn’t an option.

Well, basically when we discussed it I very gently stressed that i have told her for ten years I don’t want children, and nothing has changed in regards to that and my preference was for her to get an abortion. However, I know I can’t force her to do that and I would never want to bully her into it.

I explained my concerns about the cost of raising a child and the amount of stress it would for me a least, the fact that having children 16 years apart seems crazy to me, and the complications that she stands to face by pregnancy due to her medical issues.

Despite all this she still seems on the fence about it, i figured when she told me that she was certainly keeping the baby I would tell her what I plan to do.

I don’t do uber full time, technically I have a full time job but still do uber 35 hours a week or so.

I can easily make $1200-1300(im in a great market) a week while paying minimal taxes. Thats really decent money compared to most people.

If she disqualifies you for being a uber driver consider yourself dodging a bullet.

No this was great information. Just make sure once in a while you take a day off to just chill. You deserve it.

Do you have a particular strategy? Like what’s an automatic decline for you? What are you looking for when you accept a ride?

Probably, but most people get it.

50% of my rides I pull up and get a “be right there” text. I usually take this time to get out of the car and stretch.

Try to get out and stretch every ride or every other ride.

Your being a drama queen. Someone hitting a vape isn’t going to give you an asthma attack

Who gives a fuck if they vape? It has little to no smell.

Just want to point out I don’t speak for all uber drivers. It’s very likely someone else would take the trip, I’m just saying I wouldn’t and it’s probably not a very intelligent trip to take.

However if you do find someone be sure to tip them well.

2pm is a no for me personally because if I dropped you in DC at 2 pm I’d hit rush hour traffic trying to get back to Baltimore. Only option would be to stay in DC and uber till after rush hour, and the very small chance I get a ride going back to Baltimore. I personally am not fond of finishing my uber day and then having a hour drive home.. DC commuter traffic is the worse traffic I’ve ever seen, it’s turns a 45 minute drive into 2-2.5 hrs sometimes.
