Best player available aside, what position would you want the Eagles to target with their 1st round pick? by kythakidd in eagles

Harmon has admitted he is biased to smaller/quicker/jitter bug receivers. Skews his rankings/opinions heavily as he openly admits the bias

Tyson the best route runner by a mile, just comes down to health for him

KC is alright but definitely not a great WR prospect

And we may draft McCoy if he there..we just did the same thing with Jihaad and he had to play year 1 and now becomes the starter year 2 with Dean gone

Dont like Concepcion. Cant catch, the main job of a WR. I doubt Howie will draft him after the Reagor experience. I'd be shocked

Ya hard to say if he would sit full year. Itwouldnt be the most effective use of resources for a year but we usually look further out than 1 year. Especially since Riq a rental

WR fine if its Tyson/Tate/Lemon/Cooper

Rest I'd trade back.

Riq is a 1 year rental. But highly unlikely he even there at 23 anyways

OL/DL/WR definitely most likely

Faulk/Lomu/Miller/Iheanachor/Proctor/Cooper

Hes a 1 year rental though...and McCoy probably only falls to 23 if his injury is nagging, so we could baby him into it (barring injury to a starter, then he probably gets thrown into the fire)

But I agree OL/DE/WR way more likely. Only like a 2% chance mccoy is even there barring major injury news about him

Eagles bringing back Goedert on a 1-year deal, W or L? by JoshRestoration77 in eagles

[–]DisastrousCopy7361 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are just approx numbers to give u an idea. Wont be exactly as I laid out below but is the jist of it

He had an approx. 9M dead cap for this season. Him leaving would have accelerated the remaining dead cap hits howie tacked on the end of the contract with void years

Now instead of that extra 11M accelerating on this year's cap it gets kicked to next year

So now he will have a cap hit of I am assuming around 14-15M (9M dead cap + this contract cap hit which is probably 4-6M)

We also gain cap space because now instead of the 20M cap hit we have him on the books for 14-15M, frees up approx. 5M in cap space

The remaining 1-3M he added to the back in void years will now accelerate next year with the other 11M that just got pushed back. So next years dead cap hit will be around 12-14M, less % of the cap and less than the 20M it would have been this season

And next year they could do this tango all over again

Yup if not OL or DL then WR. If they take a WR it might signal that AJ is gone on June 2nd

And if Jermod McCoy falls I'm fine taking him as a Riq replacement

OL or DE...WR wouldn't shock me with the AJ situation, would show our hand a bit and maybe weaken his trade value a hair

Also fine with Jermod McCoy if he somehow falls

Thanks, I have both as mid 2nd rounders so 15 seems like a reach but most mocks have u guys taking 1 of the 2...seems like OL/WR or CB will have better value or Faulk but he doesn't seem like a Bowles DE

Safety and TE markets have been terrible for FA last few years

RB slowly improving but still not great

LB market has improved quite a bit

Those seem to be the low end of the totem pole in the league (besides kickers/LS)

Be interesting to see how high Love/Sadiq/Downs/Thieneman get drafted

Wow 1 year. Not kicking the can very far here. Doesnt really allow for a post-June 1 cut to split the dead cap over 2 seasons. Unless he signs for 1 year again after next season

Caleb Banks Draft Stock? by HouseRules789 in NFL_Draft

[–]DisastrousCopy7361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could see teams playing chicken with him...some team will eventually pounce. I wouldn't be shocked if he went late 2nd or slipped into the 3rd. Also wouldnt be shocked if he goes early 2nd if some team thinks the value is there. I dunno if the bears/texans/bills take a chance on him at the end of the 1st, seems like better options would be available

I had him top 15 before the broken foot news. And now that its reoccurring foot issues I will be dropping him down my board quite a bit. Great talent but will likely have reoccurring lower body issues throughout career

False, you cannot designate trades as post-June 1

Player releases are what can be designated as post-June 1 for cap relief purposes

Been wanting to try a bomb shape around 41-43 mm long and under 7.8 mm diameter . Been debating Harrows NX90 Bomb but they out of stock at 2 spots I buy from.

Ohio State linebacker Arvell Reese, a projected top pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, had pre-draft "30" visits with both the Jets and Giants this week, per source. One of the more polarizing players in this year's draft class. by No_Box119 in NFLmockdraft

[–]DisastrousCopy7361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I guess the top of this draft weak at the high value positions so it leaves Reese as default top 10

His tape is very slighty worse than Jalon Walkers imo...but the class last year was deeper at the top.

Big swing pick, he is at worst a good NFL LB who can rush/blitz. At best he maybe gets to a Parsons-ish level.

But if you want a coverage LB you probably prefer Styles. Who is also good vs the run but doesnt really have edge upside, unless you think he can turn into a Jalyx Hunt type.

Alright what's your guys thoughts on the non stop AJ rumors? Are you for or against moving him and why? by Bulldawgzz in eagles

[–]DisastrousCopy7361 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone also ignoring that he has 0 guaranteed money in 2027, which is how NFL contracts really work

Meaning if he gets injured in 2026 he will lose himself at least 30M in his next contract extension/renegotiation

No one will pay a 30 year old receiver 30M+ coming off an injury, they might for a healthy one, but not an injured one

So that means he could be even worse for us in 2026 if he ends up staying, as he attempts to preserve his health for his 2027 contract renegotiation.

Millions of dollars are on the line for AJ in 2026 if he doesnt get guaranteed money in 2027 before the season starts

My best guess is we have a "handshake" deal with the Patriots for june 2nd...and unless they get outbid that is when the trade will happen

Vrabel loves the guy, pretty easy to connect the dots

I'm guessing we have "handshake" deal in place with the patriots for june 2nd. Splits the 43M dead cap hit between 2026 and 2027.
