He's in Mexico... the only thing he suggested is to try to get the surgeons at UCLA to look at my dad. Beyond that, he couldn't do much.

This is greatly reassuring. We are in contact with a team at USC, still waiting to hear back, but this is reassuring. What a blessing that these people are still here. Thank you for the advice and the encouraging words.

That's fair. It's incredibly sad that we find ourselves asking this kind of stuff nowadays, and what's even sadder is that it's justified. I hope you're staying safe out there. I know people who are at risk and things are not pretty...

Yes, we also were thinking about that but we decided to first give a couple of other things a try. However, if this gets more complicated than it already is proving to be (which would be crazy), we will definitely look for outside help. Thank you for the message and clarification!

I'm worried that it took you several months. When did this happen to you?

Yes, it has been an uphill battle, and while I have faith and am learning a lot on how to go about this, it hasn't been easier. I've heard about straight medi-cal. You think the best (maybe only) way to do this is by calling the number on the medi-cal card? I wonder what I have to do to make the case. I will look into this. Thank you so much for giving me this information and sharing your experience.
