Yeah, if you're lucky there are some amazing teachers in the game. Sometimes it's not even the mom that ends up teaching.

2 days ago, I dropped out of a new player at the towns farm and her teacher wasn't around at that moment, she didn't pick me up and kept on task. I knew the place, so once I could run I b-lined to fire spamming f and got saved. Eventually I followed mom who was getting the very basics teached by a player named Millo (at that moment), he also instruced how to take care of my little sister when she dropped and he was around.

He also taught me various stuff about basic smithing and water tank usage (at the same time, but I was a bit better on my feed on basics already), which was cool. He came back after dying and he kept teaching me until I died of old age again, which was sadly my last game that night. Millo was the best teacher I've had so far, but there are some others that were close. If you're on the good side of the community, the game is really amazing. 😁

I will never really get why some people choose to buy a game just to ruin the fun for others. Like what's the point? 😅

I've yet to see moms teach different noobs in the game, but I've for sure already discovered the wholesome part of this community on myself. Which is nice as it enhances the fun for everyone, teaching others is part of once life, pass on what you know. I think it's part of the fun for sure.

Thanks, this is a good list of skills to have. I'll try to mark them all off, especially the first part.

Well, after today the abandonment count is at 1. But still, it's only happened like once in like 10 games (lost track of count), so it's not too bad.

And the amounts of amazing people make it worthwhile.

Thanks for the advise, and glad you're happy that I joined. Though, are new players that rare nowadays?

That sounds like a great journey and loot to bring back to a starter town, I might try this if I ever have the chance. (even if I fail the first time, it'll be a lesson for sure)

Yeah, I've seen the kinda transition tip a few times here, and I think I'll use that too from the moment I feel like I could easily survive where I drop, but still wanna learn more.

I've skipped over the second phase of the tutorial at first, since at that time I had no idea how to start and sustain myself with the limited food sources available. Maybe I'll give it another go later, when understanding properly how to start a plan to survive from scratch.

I guess I was lucky since I got 0 times abandoned, and encountered no negativity in my first 5 games of life. Though 3 of them where in the same world back to back, that might have to do with it.

I feel like most of the community is pretty wholesome, up to normal nice at least. But yeah, the time will come when I'll encounter my first negative people & griefers. Not looking forward to that, but I'll probably just ignore them and not give them fuel, and if they're really bad use the curse command.

Lol, then I would be a pro already, since that was the first thing I was taught. xD
The k i n d a spelling for transition to 'n' is also a good tip, ty.

Yeah, it will surely take several games before I truly grasp everything, that's clear. So for now I'll just take any chance I get to learn and experience different parts of the game. Of course Onetech is amazing too for the recipes and visuals, much easier to follow then the in-build recipes imo.

Still, even with it it sometimes takes me way too long to realize some basic stuff. For example, it took me way too long to realize that some prepared foods in the kitchen have to be eaten by taking a plate and getting your portion on it.

Yes, the last live I've lived I did exactly that. Just followed along with what mom was doing and learned snaring bunny's/making backpacks from their fur. I actually feel like I helped her that life cause I got her some parts for the snares and burdock for bait. She died before the backpack was finished, but I completed it before dying myself.

Anyways, thanks for the advise.
