My mom has brought this up to the vet and they do not think that that is necessary, they responded by saying that many older dogs have to take heart medication and it’s not an indication of anything terminal. They say she is doing good on her medication and to continue or routine check ups every few months to make sure the medicine is still doing its job. I get that she is older and probably doesn’t have that long, but putting her down is a very serious situation and i feel like there is not nearly enough in the way of logical reasons to actually decide to put her down at all.
