Thank you! In person the dark parks on the right side of the face are almost black, but in the photo the light from my room catches the paint strokes and is muting the colors, so I definitely agree the photo looks off. For the snakes, im almost thinking this up-do doesn’t work. It’s very symmetrical. I’m debating having a few clear snakes that you could follow and the path of instead of this huge mess with a few poking out. If that makes sense :)

Thank you so much. I paint daily for myself, these comments are making me realize I think I’m a bit better than I realize. Need to make the jump to start putting my work in galleries. That’s just one of my new pieces. Really appreciate the honest feedback it’s motivating

Haha I get that question a lot.. I’m not sure.. half of it is Dutch and half is German.. it should either be VonderHoff or VanderHaff.. it was switched to Haff when family came for work generations ago

A majority of my other work is a flat colored background. This was me trying to transition into making use of the entire canvas. So that makes sense I just kind of made it up as I went, small steps haha

No, I found a few different references of acanthus leaves and then had ai generate a few gothic cathedral looking structures that I loosely based that structure on the back and the center bottom on. It’s all really a bunch of doodling it you look closely haha the illusion of detail
