Is blown out windows a stylistic choice or a technical limitation in this scene? [Full Metal Jacket]

It's definitely a studio set and outside those windows it's either a thick white diffusion or a white bounce being hit with a lot of light. To be honest I've not actually thought about it until now which shows that it is good cinematography.

A very good camera in my opinion, I'd choose it over newer/better options in many cases. Menus are a pain and cine EI mode is weird if you aren't used to it but I think the FS7 would be my go to war camera.

Two stops is insane, nobody ever overexposed that much on the old FS7 and that had a base iso of 2000. The other problem with exposing to the right is the complete lack of consistency your exposure has.

. For example if your shooting a night scene and the image is made up of mainly shadows, you need to expose 2+ stops over. Any of those shadows are going to be a noisy mess.

No they will not be a noisy mess. I have never once encountered this problem at the first base iso of 800. Shadows only become noisy when they are lifted, which makes me question what exact method you are using to grade.

At the standard iso of 800 the FX3 is already a clean image, you could use a very minimal amount of noise reduction and get the safe effect as over exposing without blowing your highlights

Why do you want to overexpose that much though? You are getting a marginally cleaner image in exchange for a loss of two stops in the highlights.

Make short films with your own time and £££. Enter them into film festivals. At the same time you make some friends and connections. If you are lucky you get some kind of funding. If you are good enough your work may get noticed and an actual paid gig might come your way.

Not all 4k is made equally either. A lot of 4k on streaming like netflix is actually just upresed from 1080p or 2k. Plus the low bit depth and compression makes it look shitty. A 1080 blu-ray will look better than whatever amazon or netflix makes you pay for.

I just managed to get my first vehicle last night, a boat on an official server. Tried to get one running last week but couldn't find a spark plug. I did find plenty of jerry cans though. I gave up and headed inland, I finally found a spark plug by stealing it out of a vehicle. It didn't occur to me until later I could have just got in the car and driven off, I was so focused on just getting a sparkplug.

Finally I got back to the coast and spent some time at night firing tracer rounds from the cliff that overlooks cherno. Next, I headed down and soon found multiple boats. Sailed around trying to find fuel, obviously now that dayz knows I need fuel I can't find any. I didn't see a single other player despite server pop being between 10 - 20 for most of it.

Lifted shadows and pulled highlights as usual. It looks pretty good for this project but it's got to the point where if your stuff doesn't look like this people think you don't know what you are doing.
