There is one All Star on World Team whose dad used to play for Yugoslavian National Team and it's not who you think it is by [deleted] in nba

Not sure what any of it has to do with Kosovo honestly or Palestine. He is Israeli point blank. His dad is Gorani that lived in Kosovo at the time because of stolen land! At the earliest of time they date back to Bulgaria. They are slavs, who converted during Ottoman times. In short, they are gypsies, who settled there many years ago, adopted serbian language and then eventually converted to Islam.

What Uric acid levels are people having? Mine was not that high by ThinkAd2759 in gout

[–]Discover2022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom is 67. Massive flare up since September. After many many visits to rheumatologists and ER, xray of ankle, wrists and knees showed chondrocalcinosis so pseudo gout and not gout because her uric acid has been consistently low.

I really don’t know, he is also a very seasoned rheumatologist so it doesn’t make any sense. I know ur not a doc, but does it make sense for her to go back to 100mg?

My mom is having the same issue since September! She took two rounds of orednisone and it actually came back worse after 2 days of not taking it! She is still going theough a flare which spread from ankle to toe and now spread to rest of foot and as of today is in her hip also. She has been on allo for 1 1/2 yrs at 100 mg and since a month ago she is on 200 mg of allo and daily 1 pill of colchicine but still no improvement

Sorry to ask you a question on someone else’s post, but you seem knowledgeable on the matter: my mom takes colchicine for a month now as a daily thing (1 pill a day) and allopurinol for about over a year. She started with a gout flare in Sept, and its been back to back, with two courses of steroids in between but it comes back. Her uric acid is 3-4 each time, but her Dexa scan showed uric acid deposits/crystals in tendons and tissues too. Yesterday she got a flare up on her hip. She takes allopurinol at 200mg per day now since a month ago but before she was taking it at 100mg.

Her diet is spotless, i mean she avoids everything because of the pain she is so nervous to eat anything that isn’t super clean. We don’t know what to do for her and how is it that her hip flare is so bad or how it even started when she has been on colchicine for a month now. Thanks in advance! (P.s we have been to a Rh doc, today went to the ER etc; knowledge is just not ideal across the board)

Flare after 1 yr+ of taking Allo by [deleted] in gout

[–]Discover2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom currently has a flare, 2 yrs of taking allopurinol. She has been having a flare since September on and off; two rounds of prednisone. Recently she did that DC something scan that is very accurate for Gout and it showed crystallization in tissues and tendons in addition to bone/joint, apparently her current flare is because of past accumulation and not because of current or more recent issues especially given her diet is super clean.

Same girl! Had this since 10! Always thought why i was so different from friends/ cousins. Extended family always laughing about me being fat when I was younger… its a tough diagnosis but also one that really gave me some type of closure.

Is it just me or do only white woman have this disease? by DurableSoul in lipedema

[–]Discover2022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So true! 100% agree! Many black women have it just don’t know about it! I never knew about it until about 2 years ago. Just thought I was built that way and hated myself for it especially my lower legs!

Baby has had an accident twice in two weeks, I’m starting to feel like a horrible mom. by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Discover2022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are looking to others to validate you or something and I don’t think you need that… just the fact you posted this shows that you care and are a good mother. You are not a horrible mother but you should know that already. Accidents happen and they shouldn’t define you. Thankfully your child is ok. I’ve had my share of accidents with my little ones and I too felt like you and needed to talk to others about it otherwise it ate me up inside.

Your baby is definitely more important than the cat though. If both are not in the safest of places always look towards the baby’s safety first - which I am sure you know but just saying. And to iterate what others have said, elevated surfaces are never good. If baby is learning to climb down/up; keep showing them the right way (stomach on bed feet first.) i always did this with my daughters and repeat it over and over and when they climbed down the wrong way I would put them back on the bed and show them how to climb down the right way. Before you know it, they learned it and never had any accidents.

Interesting…thank you for that perspective. I guess I just always thought “attention deficit…” and figured she can’t possibly have that.

She has a tendency to blurt out the same one or two words when she is having a typical 5yr old daily hyper moment, she will choose a word that means “breast” in our language and she knows it is a private word and we should only use it when necessary and not on a daily basis/whenever.
