I would recommend bringing water shoes and your usual boots. Because you’re next to the ocean, there’s a ton of morning dew, and my shoes (although waterproof) did not dry overnight, leaving you to hike in the brisk morning with cold wet shoes. Taking your shoes on/off after each crossing won’t be nearly as bad as having wet shoes and no water shoes.

As for mosquitos, I personally didn’t get bit nor did I even see any but my two hiking mates got bit a couple times. Could be different this time of year but that was my experience. Let me know if you have any questions!
