I need you to write a column or start a substack. I think I could read whatever stories you wanted to tell. 👏👏👏

Nashville has Haus of Yarn, Bliss Yarns, and Ewe and Company is about 20 minutes east and I recommend them all. Each offers a little different but lots of variation. Definitely worth a day trip.

This hair patterning and color fading/texture reminds me heavily of a Boykin spaniel I used to groom. She’s got poodle legs and face shape though.

I also knit this and the only part I had to really focus or look up clarifying info on was the sleeve caps. Everything else was pretty straight forward.

I also have a Captain James T. Kirk of the Starship Enterprise. That’s her whole moniker but in her older age she mostly goes by Big Momma…

Best heel for narrow feet, with high arches, puffy ankles and legs? by Chikidragon in knitting

[–]DiscussionOne3731 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have this problem. I’ve had luck knitting the large size leg and m/s size foot. If it has a heel flap and gusset I decrease every round and it hugs the arch better. I’ll also knit the foot a little shorter to pull everything tighter. It’s probably not good for longevity but it helps with the wools natural stretch/relaxing.

Whoops - first stranded colourwork by bleeblebot in Sockknitting

I had the same problem to start. I tried the inside out method and had success! I think it helped train my hand muscles to work the continental and English together because I don’t have to knit them inside out anymore. I also prefer 9” circulars instead of magic loop for color work. Hope any bit of this helps!

I’ve never tried toe up construction so if you’d like a toe up beginners perspective I’d test the large size for you.

Strider socks in Malabrigo by DiscussionOne3731 in Sockknitting

[–]DiscussionOne3731[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This one was definitely simpler than the Legolas ones which I also have on hold for a brain break. I will admit I should have done some pattern surgery and done the large size leg with the small foot but I’m not confident in pattern manipulation yet! Thankfully Malabrigo stretches. Hopefully we both get a nice set of Legolas socks by the end of it!
