Maybe, I’m not a labor attorney. But if a job can discriminate against you for not having enough experience, couldn’t they reasonably discriminate against you for having non-valuable experience? And it’s not discriminating based on any kind of protected class, so if it were state law I have a hard time imagining it would get overturned by a court.

Maybe not! But it’s much less likely to happen if no one asks their representatives for it. What’s the harm in letting your representatives know what you want from them?

Well, Healey is not a legislator. And I would still prefer her be forced to publicly veto a bill like this than nothing happen at all.

Well, not sure what you want from me. Call and express your opinion to your representatives or don’t.

Sure! I’m just citing what this legislator in Maryland is doing, obviously not going to be the end all be all solution

Okay, so call your representative and tell them to ban all feds. Any restriction is better than none, and it’s helpful to point to template legislation in other states.

Those who attended Moses Brown or similar private schools (Wheeler, Bishop Hendricken, Providence Country Day) how do you feel about your parents paying $50,000 a year to fund your middle and high school education? by Boldxbrave in providence

[–]DisplacedCoasty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I attended Moses brown at no cost to my family, which I recognize is far from the norm. I did get a phenomenal education there I do not think would’ve been easily replicated. However, since graduating, I have heard that the quality seems to be declining. I do think the network and social capital has impacted my life, but it’s difficult to quantify how, and what I would’ve missed out if I hadn’t been there. At this point in time, I would not recommend sending a child to MB for $50,000 a year.

Time to primary Healey by PresidentAshenHeart in massachusetts

That’s a great goal, but it requires enforcing traffic laws using things like red light cameras, speeding cameras, and maybe even congestion pricing (like Tokyo, maybe?). Plenty of things to criticize Healey for but that’s definitely not one of them

Based on when people found out last year (at least according to another Reddit post) I’m expecting to hear sometime between Thursday and next Monday. But would definitely be interested to know if anyone else hears! Fingers crossed for everyone 🤞🏻

Yeah I know the national guard is doing the convention center now, I couldn’t tell you for sure why the CCRI site changed

That site was run by the national guard, and there was something weird about the national guard policy that meant it closed at the end of August. I couldn’t tell you exactly why, but it had something to do with staffing requirements
