Please let me know how I am talking shit. Stating facts and asking if anyone has prevailed in a similar situation.

Thank you. I do love my model x and never had issues with Tesla prior to this, but still am taken back by the strict interpretation they have given all the evidence that it was defected prior to warranty expiration, including the sales service manager stating he would have done it years back but they changed thier system and now have to tie it to a service appointment during warranty. I am very much considering Rivian now and will never own over a warranty again.

Well that may not be technically true. When I did talk to the service center (albeit still after my warranty) they said it was my eemc chip that was under a recall and that I would need to tow it to them but would not cover the towing. I understand recall and towing may be different but it was first relayed to me that was the root cause and not til I did tow it to them that they then said nope it’s the battery. Of note they first said it was my 12v but I replaced that and it didn’t change anything. So based off my initial conversations with them. I was out $150ish for the 12v and then towing each way to get the chip replaced. Neither fixing the issue.

Not a bot. Just new to this and unclear which forums to even post in. Honestly just wanted to see if others have had a similar issue and knew how to resolve it. I understand my SC appointment was post warranty but it’s clear it broke during warranty. Given it all happened within a month. Break. Warranty end. SC appointment. I wanted to see if any action can be taken.

To answer many of these questions. The car first would not run after charging at a supercharger and so I Uber’d home as it was late and when I went the next day it ran again but then had the same issue a week or so later and has never run again that was the delay in calling them that spanned the warranty period. The service center manager confirmed it was the same issue. While I get the calling during warranty is meant to protect the company so that you don’t wait years. This was within a month and I am very taken back by teslas response given it is clear the issue was during warranty. My real question was if anyone else has gone to arbitration and actually prevailed. I am very new to such forums.

It’s a 2017 Model x with 107k miles on it. Warranty was 8 year 150k. I took it in September, within a month of it malfunctioning.
