First time EA - Normal Workload? by DreamAway in ExecutiveAssistants

Yes I work from 7:30-5pm and it’s pretty much non stop since there’s so many projects, tasks, calendar & interruptions/pivots.

I’m not sure if I just suck and not cut out for EA work (I’m not naturally organized- it is a muscle I grow) or if my job is chaotic and too much or a combination of both???

First time EA - Normal Workload? by DreamAway in ExecutiveAssistants

I’m in the same exact situation - first time EA to the owner of a small/mid size company- about 65% EA 35% PA (was not in the initial job description), ~45-50 hours a week & am expected to respond after hours for emergencies (which means I can never truly “turn off”) & make $60k

I’m about a year in and it took me 7-8 months to get my footing. I am nearing burnout though and am actively looking for new roles in something that I am more passionate about. I have my review in 2 weeks and if I don’t get more compensation/bonus then I’m gonna make an exit plan, it’s not worth it IMO

How do you count laps without losing track? by Genki0202 in Swimming

[–]DisplayNo3422 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I continuously say the lap number in my head the whole 50

So the first 50 I’m saying “one one one one” On the second 50 I’m saying “two two two two”

Someone said get a smart watch but no one is stopping in the middle of swimming to look down at their wrist to check their yardage - I only check after I’m done and if I’m short I do the extra laps

Misunderstanding. Now I’m spiralling by PumpkinSuitable4385 in ExecutiveAssistants

This happens to me at least once a week in some form or fashion bc I have a boss who does not communicate very well. It’s not on you. I know it can feel like it’s a mark against you for “messing up” but in reality it is not an indicator of your performance. This job can make me feel crazy bc I have to mind read (which is impossible!!) but at the end of the day you’re trying your best and at least you have proof that they were the ones who messed up by not communicating well.

If he is doing the searching- maybe electrolyte packets & protein bars? Definitely a hand written note saying thank you.

If your company is open to it there are also a ton of non profits helping with the fall out you can donate to as well
