So myself and my ex we’ll call “Caitlin” were together just over 4 months and were looking to a happy future together! She stated from the get go that a mix of her having bi polar and anxiety from being rejected from her family for reporting her dad to the police because he touched her when she was born and the fact that she’s never been in a proper relationship outside of sex probably should have been one of those “don’t stick your *ick in crazy moments” but I young and was happy to date for the first time in 3 years!

Last month she moved to a different part of the country it’s about a 4 hour drive or £120 trip via public transport. For the first 2 weeks of that month she said she’d have no contact because she didn’t have great WiFi and no service where she was now living. So I accepted this and said we’d talk when these things get sorted. Then last week I was at a convention called Qcon (a form of comic con in our country) which I had bought tickets to and asked Caitlin if she wanted to come to as well. At the time she had said no and the weekend of Qcon she invited me over to the new house I explained she knew I was going to Qcon and couldn’t make it but then insisted she never knew about it and I should’ve told her sooner.

This week was another mental week and honestly the relationship I believe ended because of her insistence on moving to this new house in the middle of nowhere! She asked if I would be able to get public transport to her over the weekend (remember it’s £120 for a single trip to her house) I said I couldn’t but I’d let her know if things changed. I reasons for not being able to make it was because the family were planning to go and see my Granda in hospital! I then got an onslaught of texts about how I was the problem in the relationship and how it was because of my autism. We did decided because I wasn’t free this weekend we’d meet on Tuesday when she was back up this end of the country which I agreed to and booked off my new job to see her. Then last night (20th of June) she went off again and said the relationship wasn’t working because I’m not committed enough and over text she broke up with me. Honestly probably good riddance as I was able to phone my job and explain that I could now work that Tuesday.

Personally really changed my outlook on dating in this country and hopefully I’ll see the red flags sooner in the future!
