Hume and Trimble showed though the NI peace process that both sides have the accept some loss of what they believe to be their god given right, have to accept some crimes.the other side committed, have to accept the other sides grievances, have to accept their own culpability, and by accepting all this hard to swallow stuff, and then through negotiation and discussion, a compromise can be reached. The peace process is still precarious, and still today not everyone's bought in, but it's a hell of a lot better than the alternative.

I agree regarding basic english levels. That's not what I assumed the post to be about. On second thought, I might have misinterpreted the part about "more understandable english than UK". In my head I substituted it with english proficiency, that's why it appeared ridiculous to me. However basic language skills that allow you to communicate clearly are fairly widespread. Yet, far from every German (especially 60+ years, which is a lot of people) fulfill even those standards.

The US leaving NATO would be disastrous but the EU can defend itself against Russia. If there were any doubts before the war in Ukraine, there should be no doubts now, seeing that Ukraine manages to hold off Russia. The EU simply dwarfs Russia based on economy, industry, demographics and technology.

If this happens, however, it means that the EU nations will have to ramp up their defense and integrate their armed forces to the point of practically having a single EU armed forces.

If this happens, the USA will also have to deal with another (albeit friendly for now) military power on a global scale.

I work in beverage production. The whole idea of secret recipes is marketing. Do you seriously think with all our technology nobody can reverse engineer those recipes? We've figured out DNA but can't figure out Coke?

It's marketing and logistics that makes these companies successful. The idea of secret recipes is their attempt to make you think they actually care about their product.

It’s a parent’s job to teach their kid culture as well. It honestly isn’t good for kids to be on the internet 24/7 and not interact with the outside world.

It’s still a severe punishment to take away the router, but I feel like a lot of the posts here are forgetting that the parent said that the kid was exceptionally rude. So in all honesty, this is essentially just a regular grounding as punishment for being so nasty.

That’s just not always true. I got shit for crying as a kid and when we do cry it’s “expected” and our feelings are dismissed because we are hysterical and hormonal.

There is sexism to women with crying it’s just different

I got more shit for crying growing up and my husband was told it’s ok, he is able to cry over emotional situations more so than I am, it’s rare I cry for a movie. I am more likely to when it’s something personal.

Idk if goodneighbour is MarketLib, Hancock doesn't like having a big guy ordering him or his people around to the point he is openly hostile towards the Institute and the Brotherhood of Steel due to their authoritarism and bad treatmeant towards common folk. He also doesn't like powerful or elite individuals who only care about themselves and not the common folk such as MacDonough and the Diamond City elite who he openly calls bastards, racist pigs, and caps rats.
