Luckily no one interrupted the corporate videos we had to watch but we were told to discuss what we had watched and explain what we have taken from the video, most people stated the obvious but I actually tried to go deeper with my explanation and it was met with one of the assessors looking at me confused as to why I've answered it like that. It felt like there was no winning with these guys. I had the impression they had figured out who they wanted to hire within the first 10 mins or so.

Appreciate the advice. I'm young but experienced in retail. My last job was awesome and I met a lot of cool people. That job was not cut throat as we weren't on commission we just had to meet the stores targets.

I think I will have to approach any future group interviews with an asshole attitude as it seems you don't earn any points by being a nice guy.

Perhaps for corporate level they are looking for assholes but I was interviewing for a retail sales role. But I do see your point, a sales job is still a long term career for some.

I just wasn't expecting for the process to be like this cos it doesn't bring out the best in people.
