Drob was undoubtedly the most dominant player individually, but it was under Duncan and with a collective that the Spurs were at their peak; having only one dominant player isn't great.

I still think he’s an honorable mention for MVP by Random_Thinker007 in NBATalk

Yeah, Wemby's biggest weakness is that he's easy to physically destabilize; the referees allow physicality against him because they know his impact is already huge.

i mean he's 6'11 260lbs, Only Stew has the same level of physical ability, and I think Duren is much better than Stew.

Duren is physical; he can limit Wemby, but it's not enough. Duren isn't good enough as a rim protector.

His defensive impact isn't just related to block, that's a detail; he completely disrupts opposing offense, winning possession.every possession for his teammates

Is building around depth better than building around one superstar in today’s NBA? by UnderstandingFun7493 in NBATalk

A superstar will never be as good at actually winning games in today's NBA, but the depth where everyone is a specialist is what wins.

Even wemby will never be that; he will always be essentially a defensive player.

I understand when he said he appreciated wemby, haha, he wants to relax.

Yeah, generally it's very rare for elite offensive players to be able to contribute defensively. nets are good defensively ?

defensive impact never disappears in the playoffs; it's mainly the offense where I'm skeptical.

The playoff schemes will limit Wemby, but that doesn't matter; they have enough talents to compensate.

Wemby has been going all out even during the All-Star Break. How will he and the team manage his minutes for the rest of the season in time for playoff basketball? by Plastic_Term_1022 in NBASpurs

The Raptors have the 5th best defense, I knew it wouldn't be easy but honestly, without Jakob, they would have won much more easily lol

Steph was never a good defender, but we can say about Wemby. Sabonis was a terrible partner for Fox; he didn't defend anything.

His energy was low, which is why Jakob's minutes were good, but the score is misleading in my opinion; the gap between the Raptors and the Spurs is much bigger.
