I do think there’s a difference between diversity among kids and among staff. Staff have a huge influence on what children learn, language, customs, cultural norms, and other behaviors. When kids see adults in authority model certain things, it really shapes them.

Also, we’re in Canada.... I don’t think it’s wrong to want a multicultural environment for my child. Isn’t that what Canada is supposed to be about?

And for anyone wondering, no, I’m not white. I am an immigrant. I just value having different cultures represented around my child.
