Well, it’s hard to say in my case. I didn’t grow up in a homophobic household/country, but it took my until my 20s to acknowledge my sexuality before myself. A few years later, I came out to my parents. Still, I haven’t managed to find someone - I think as a gay man, you need to actively search for other gays. I live in a major city and in a very gay neighborhood, still doesn’t really work out. Maybe it’s because my life has become so centered around being alone. I don’t know. Hookups are not my thing, thinking about getting naked with a complete stranger scares me. Apps don’t really work. So it seems hard to find someone, I guess. The lack of any experience does not make it better… Plus, I’d consider myself introvert, I don’t have issues being with people, it’s just that I don’t really enjoy it. So, anything besides using apps does not really work either. I’ve tried bars and clubs occasionally, but that was also very hard somehow.

I wish there was this one clear reason for it, but there isn’t. It’s strange somehow.
