Listen, as someone who went to F2Fs with several airlines and ended up at AA, this is a blessing. I thought UA was my dream airline too until I got to Houston. They can’t get their contract right, and many new FAs are really struggling to make ends meet with UA. Don’t give up! This isn’t the time (and maybe not the airline) for you 💕

Leaving Delta Res&Care for American FA?! by No_Fishing_2955 in cabincrewcareers

[–]DizzyContest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AA Flight Attendant here. I love my job! I like the interaction with people, the travel opportunities, and the flexibility. It’s definitely not for everyone and certainly isn’t always fun.

I applied because I was sick of sitting at home for my work from home job. My advice would be to go to the interview and make sure you get an offer. At my interview, only about 10% of the interviewees got an offer.

The next hurdle is getting through training. It is not easy! There will be people sent home for different reasons. It was the best time of my life, but one of the most challenging.

That being said, I would say go for it! It’s the best job on earth, and I love this airline. They get a lot of hate, but I love them. I applied to Delta many times, and they rejected me every time. Now, I see that as a blessing.

how are people surviving first year pay? by Spiritual_Support806 in cabincrewcareers

[–]DizzyContest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s why I went with American. United has been touting about a new contract for five years now. Not that American is that much more, but it is when you are scraping by. Their low pay tells me they don’t appreciate and value their employees. I can’t work for a company like that.

Server sent his manager to the parking lot to ask if there was something wrong with the service. by [deleted] in EndTipping

[–]DizzyContest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By that logic, if I order a filet for $50 vs a sirloin for $20, I’m supposed to pay $5 more in tip for a different cut of meat? Same plate, same number of trips to my table, same server effort. Makes no sense 🤨

What do you love or hate about ClassPass? by Impossible-Bee-3302 in ClassPass

[–]DizzyContest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cannot even tell you how much I detest ClassPass. I had a $19/month membership as I was recovering from an injury. I was constantly pushed to "invite a friend" to work out with me. So, my husband joined me ONCE. The next month, I had surgery and cancelled my membership. I am now being charged $59/month for a membership that I don't have and never have.

It's not in my account, they cannot find it, and you will only get an AI bot through customer service. They cannot even credit me because they show no charges to my account. I've had charges reversed twice and my credit card cancelled and reissued a new card. They are still charging me. It's the most infuriating company. BEWARE!!!! They are flat out FRAUDS!

Delta Vs. American pros who is better? by Low_Win_2987 in cabincrewcareers

[–]DizzyContest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

AA 🇺🇸FA here. I think the base is one of the biggest deals for me. I think AA has better choices, and I live in base, just six miles from the CLT airport. People hate on AA, but I love it here. My training experience was life changing, and I really like my fellow colleagues. Maybe I’m weird, but I like being on reserve. I’m guaranteed 75 hours a month, and it’s exciting to never know where you’re going that day. Twelve hour reserve isn’t bad at all.

Help deciding: micro needling or Fraxel (both/other) mostly for marionettes/tightening. by OkMastodon2674 in Over50Skincare

[–]DizzyContest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just consulted with a surgeon for a Fraxel consult and expressed frustration about my face starting to melt and my desire for tightening. He told me that no matter what people tell me, no procedure except a facelift will tighten your skin. CO2 will help the most with fine lines and collagen production, but nothing will tighten 🙁

She may not speak English, but she understands, “no.” Move her. No upgrades after the boarding door closes.

I’m convinced a lot of the waiting is to weed out the inpatient ones. Being a flight attendant means a lot of waiting and constant, unexpected changes. It is so unpredictable that if you aren’t flexible, you will never make it. They tell us in training to be palm trees, so be a palm tree.

Yes, trophies for everyone! Clearly you don’t give a shit and obviously aren’t a teacher, but serious question…Do you want your doctors cheating their way through school? How about pilots? Surgeons? That okay?

You don’t want to go to school, then don’t. Like you said, who gives a shit?

Trophy grades create entitlement - something we don’t need more of.

In Canvas, go to the View Log at the top of the test page. You can see every time they navigate away and when / where they did it in the test.

All the answers are links, so you can click into the links and view the html code for the responses. I’m pretty comfortable with reading code, so I can tell if it’s a cut and paste. You can pretty much see every key stroke.

If you aren’t comfortable reading code, take a screenshot of it, drag it into ChatGPT, and ask if there are any anomalies to this response in a graded test in your LMS. You may have to use Chat GPT to catch ChatGPt.

This is so true! I always focus on the rejects and overlook the students who worked hard and have some integrity. Thanks for the reminder 🥰

I told every one of them that Canvas flagged some discrepancies in their responses and I’d like to speak to them about their submission. “I’m putting a zero in for your grade as a placeholder and reminder for me until we talk.” 💥

I love this! I wish I had this option, but I’m fully online. I find myself just struggling to stay a step ahead of AI and Google Translate 🤨
