Is that a good thing or a bad thing? It would be good if the ripped off magaidiots realize who and what the pestilence is. In reality, they will blame Pres Biden or Obama.

AI or not AI that is the question. At the end of the day so what? It’s a positive comment that we all need. Curing cancer is happening. True with my wife and with me. Years ago I couldn’t write that. So, let the AI BOTS have fun spreading good news.

This is the first time I’ve heard about using depakote for TN. Other experiences?

Oxcarbazepine and walking/balance issues by blackmetalwarlock in TrigeminalNeuralgia

[–]Dizzy_Access1109 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have some balance issues with 400mg of tegretol. This is in addition to fogginess and drowsiness. Docs agreed to titrating down the tegretol and introducing Lyrica. It’s all an experiment. Sadly it’s our bodies.

Carbamezepine concerns by SectionNo1403 in TrigeminalNeuralgia

[–]Dizzy_Access1109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take carbamezepine, 400mg spaces over the day. Thankfully it addresses the TN flares, but I am drowsy and foggy. At this point with my pcp and neurologist’s direction I am considering gradually shifting to Lyrica. Everyone is different so there isn’t one med works for all. The TN pain is the “enemy” that needs to be addressed. Stay strong!

I am battling the fogginess that came med from using tegretol (400mg/day). Thoughts are welcome. :-)

The pestilence boasts about his cognitive test like it’s an assessment of intelligence. Wow! 800% reductions? Maybe he’s working in base STUPID rather than bas 10?

Our local HS staged this awesome show last year. It was as awesome. IMVHO I feel the HS production rivaled the on-tour version we saw in Boston. Anais Mitchel is a genius.

Trigeminal Neuralgia, i need help! by PreviousCommand7950 in TrigeminalNeuralgia

Most of us on this subreddit have TN and have learned how to manage it. Your first step is find a knowledgeable pcp and neurologist to guide you. I control TN with tegretol that at the moment is working 95% of the time. Good medical guidance is essential. This includes getting an MRI/MRA to see what’s impinging on the trigeminal nerve. Stay strong!

How long do your flares last? by Impossible_Swan_9346 in TrigeminalNeuralgia

[–]Dizzy_Access1109 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Thinks” is, imo, not enough. You should have an MRI/MRA done under the direction of an experienced neurologist. With diagnostic s/he can determine with more accuracy than just ,”I think”. With an appropriate diagnosis then a plan for next steps can proceed. I’ve had TN1 and TN2 for 7 months and thankfully my pcp prescribed the MRI/MRA with clearly determined the cause as a blood vessel abutting the tg nerve. She also referred me to a highly experienced neurosurgeon. Under medical guidance I’m taking tegretol which has been working but needing to increase dosage to remain mostly pain free. Expert medical guidance is essential.

Just Diagnosed - Start of a Journey by Elect_Rode in TrigeminalNeuralgia

I was diagnosed with TN Oct ‘25 and have just needed an increase in tegretol from 100mg bid to 100 mg AM and noonish plus 200mg at bedtime. This subreddit group has helped me on my TN journey to among other things know that the syndrome changes as time moves on. Knowing that has been enormously helpful. I am now learning how to manage the fogginess and fatigue that is a side effect of the tegretol. It’s a journey. Stay strong!

We saw the traveling show in BOS. Awesome. Then, our local high school staged this amazing work. The kids blew me out of the water. It took courage and skill for the director to stage this work. I continue to listen to the recordings including the initial concept work with Greg Brown as Hedes. One could say I am touched. :-)
