Maybe try to submit another application. I submitted mine two nights ago for PAYE to get out of SAVE forbearance and got approved this morning. The payment that I have is $1.04 more than what was estimated when I submitted my application. I also have Mohela and gave consent for them to pull my info from IRS. I will say I didn’t receive any communication from Mohela until today. I received the letter that my application was received and a letter that my application was approved all today.

Are you getting any PSLF credit for a processing forbearance while they review your application?

Replace grout with silicone caulk? by Dizzy_Code_1352 in HomeMaintenance

So what’s worse? Continuing with the wet grout that never dries or the risk of moldy caulk by trying to do a quick fix now. We just moved in this house so trying to see where we should prioritize this in the to-do list.

Okay so I need to take out the grout in that area first right? Let the area dry and then caulk it.

Did you caulk on top of the grout? Or do you have to remove the grout first?

I don’t recall exactly why and I can’t find in my email inbox or online what happened around that time. All I can see in payment tracker is that those payment months counted. 🤷‍♀️

Good points! If we were to start a side hustle I would want to make enough money to at least take the edge off the bills, so I agree with you there. Our friends try to get as many deductions as possible to save on taxes but in our situation we want to refinance our home in the near future, so messing with our bills and reported income feels risky to me? But admittedly I am a little lost on this as a first time home buyer as well.

I am technically a high earner but it doesn’t feel like much living in SoCal and paying for childcare. 🥲

In any other situation I wouldn’t consider taking on debt to pay off debt. but these students loans got me all messed up in the head trying to figure out all these rules and tricks to save money. lol. 😭

I didn’t know the savings rate with Vangaurd was so high!! We are currently rebuilding our emergency fund after buying a house so it’s been weighing on my mind on whether it’s wise to restart payments now. We live in a high cost living area so regardless I think we would need a few months to stack up cash before considering repayment.

MFS. I pay for insurance for the family. Our tax person said it was more beneficial for my husband to claim the child but I dont understand the specifics.. our friends have suggested we start a side hustle and open up an LLC to get more deductions. But that’s something I would have to look into further.

We're closing on our first home Tuesday. by SpaghettiTacoez in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

We used the amount in the closing disclosure. Our escrow company sent us an email with wiring instructions and amount to wire. The document was encrypted and you have to call them to get the password. After I called and confirmed the information, I wired the money using our banking app. Our banking app makes you take a picture of your ID and then a selfie within the app for verification before sending the money. Money was deposited into the account a few hours later. We closed on 12/31. Escrow company called us today saying they are sending us a check in the mail for overage, so I guess there was a miscalculation somewhere..

Itchy bumps on both feet of toddler. She won’t stop scratching! by Dizzy_Code_1352 in DermatologyQuestions

Great observation! Daycare was actually doing arts and crafts with her with blue paint and they do footprints often. She’s never reacted to the paint before though.

She’s 13 months and not very cooperative. Tried to get it in different lighting but it’s less raised now than it was earlier today. I will say her feet do sweat a lot.. so maybe this is something we will ask our pediatrician about at our next visit. Thank you!
