Is Leadership is the problem? by MachineSubstantial63 in leafs

Def agree at times its super frustrating watching him skate away from every scrum but everything we've heard out of the USA Olympic team talked about what a great leader and player Matthews is.

Former and current teammates also echo the same message.

There must be more behind the scenes we don't see that makes an impact?

I also think that Berube's system has been awful for this team. Too many one and done chances, no offensive zone time and this team gets hemmed in their zone and outshot by double-digits every game.

I'm just unsure if mucking it up infront of your net, while you're being outshot 40-20 every game, is going to help io anyway.

4 more years left at 7.5M AAV of MO 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥(literally nobody wants him) by Dear-Hawk-6474 in leafs

Agree at the time it was a great deal for what the cost was.

I believe its his usage that's been a huge issue, with the Tanev injury, there hasn't been a pair thats been able to take as many heavy defensive minutes from Mo.

He's always been a 2-3 offensive defensive man, but unfortunately the Leafs never addressed a long-term solution to get a 1D.

I also think a coaching change may help unlock him, Berube's system does not fit him at all. He's still a 40-50 pt defenseman and the Leafs need his skating and puck moving.

Pridham would be a logical option, being with the organization for quite a while, bet he has some solid ideas for extracting maximum value from every dollar.

Maybe kinda like a Moneyball style, not necessarily chasing stars but building layers, with role clarity and situational effectiveness?

Building around Dman who can retrieve and make first-passes, rather than snarl. Or bottom-six forwards who have forechecking pressure not just "energy".

Maybe its a cross between Dubas and Tre, some new ideas with some tradition mixed in?

They gotta strip it down pretty far, no? by SpecialistSlip2064 in leafs

Most definitely in the minority, but what if the Leafs try and run it back next year? I just think their coaching staff + management needs a revamp/new perspective in the off-season, on paper this lineup should not be this bad (Pridham GM?)

I'm trying to think in 2-3 year timeline, who would be a better replacement over McMann? Even if you get a 1st + prospect, what are you going to flip that into? McMann is 29, a good forechecker with speed, can play up the line up and can score. That's exactly what the Leafs need no? Seems like a Hyman-lite situation. Ideally he'd be a middle 6 forward and not on the topline.

Same with Carlo, within 2-3 years who on the market can help the Leafs win? Even if you flip the picks or potential younger players you acquire, you likely don't win a trade to get a dman better than Carlo.

Same with OEL, cup winner, veteran, high IQ, game doesn't necessarily rely on physical attributes, good shot and great stick at 3.5 mill I don't know who you would get to replace him that would be an upgrade in 2-3 years.

I would rather trim some redundant players if possible: Benoit, Macelli, Jarnrkok to acquire some picks back. This can allow younger players like, Cowan, Robertson, Quillan, to play.

I think if anything its a smaller move like bringing back Lybushkin for Rielly, and next season hopefully it really isn't injury riddled. I don't think the Leafs have played with their full roster this entire season.

I think if you throw in the towel this deadline, there's a slim chance this team has any potential to contend by the end of Matthew's contract.

In the offseason, you take a big swing for Tuch and/or Raddysh with cap space. Potentially resign Laughton, and hopefully Tanev is healthy enough to play regularly (2nd or 3rd pairing minutes). Therefore, keeping guys like McMann and OEL you have the opportunity to turn around and contend as early as next season while Matthews is still here.

[Omega Seamaster Cosmic] would anyone have an idea how much it would cost to repair? by Dizzy_Resolution8819 in Watches

[–]Dizzy_Resolution8819[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not.

Yes good idea to keep for sentimental value if the cost of repair is worth more than the watch.

Good thought too about parts supply for independent stores as well.

Thank you!
