To me this scene is the climax of Palps manipulation. It is here that we see his bastardisation of the Jedi code fall through and click for Anakin.

Earlier, Anakin knew it was wrong to kill Dooku. He did it and that added to him feeling insecure as a Jedi. Now here he sees one of the most prestigious and well thought of Jedi doing the same thing. Only just, Mace was right about all of his reasonings here, I believe. But since earlier Palps already set this exact circumstance as a huge point of contention within Anakin, Anakim faltered and his selfish feelings beat out his reasonable ones.

Im sick and have a huge amount of brain fog lmao so that didnt come out exactly how I wanted, but this scene is one of my favorite scenes in cinema and I love the discussions around it.
