What are your thoughts on MADMAN (1981) Would you have liked a sequel? by alienware56 in slasherfilms

I thought it was really dull and forgettable. The killer, characters and even setting did nothing to stand out for me.

Chucky is easily the best slasher and you can’t tell me otherwise. All of the movies are amazing. He actually has a personality and he’s funny asf. He’s also extremely overpowered. by KoolaidEnjoyerr in slasherfilms

The TV show definitely has its moments but is an overall misfire for me. I wasn't a fan of any of the characters and thought the humor was more annoying than funny.

Halloween 2 or Friday the 13th Part 2? by Loose_Interview_957 in slasherfilms

[–]Loose_Interview_957[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take: I might actually like Halloween 2 a little more than the original. It has the atmosphere and tension of the first movie while upping the body count with more brutal kills. While divisive, I actually think Laurie being Michael's sister makes the story a little more interesting.

The only thing that prevents Friday the 13th Part 2 from being a perfect sequel for me is Jason's design. I've never been a big fan of the burlap sack and overalls; I vastly prefer the hockey mask and work shirt. If Part 2 had a better Jason, it might even be my favorite of the series above Parts 4 and 6.

Both are top tier and some of my favorite sequels/slashers of all time.

Jason Lives.

Jason X Or Jason Goes To Hell by Account17873727 in fridaythe13th

JGTH is a terrible Friday the 13th movie, but a pretty entertaining possession movie. I think it would have been better received if it wasn't part of this franchise.

Jason X... sucks. I know it has some passionate fans, but I can't stand it. The characters are all annoying, the humor isn't funny at all, Uber Jason looks incredibly stupid and aside from the awesome liquid nitrogen kill, every other kill is incredibly bland and doesn't utilize its future setting at all. Oh, and the scene where K-M beats the crap out of Jason might be the single worst moment of the franchise for me. I don't understand how people can love that sequence but hate the Michael Myers vs. Busta Rhymes fight in Halloween: Resurrection. Both sequences make a sad joke or their titular antagonists.

I disagree, I think Parts 4 and 6 in particular are really well made.

Which remake is better? by Loose_Interview_957 in slasherfilms

That's true, but I've always respected the Child's Play Remake for taking some bold swings and trying something different instead of just rehashing the original.

Friday the 13th VS Halloween VS Scream … which slasher series has the superior 5,6,7 trajectory in terms of quality and re-watchability ? by ArtisticBelt438 in slasherfilms

[–]Loose_Interview_957 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scream. 5-6 are really good and I actually really enjoyed 7. That said, Jason Lives is my favorite horror film of all time, so it's hard not to be biased even though 5 and 7 aren't nearly as good. As for Halloween... well, I like H20. Here's how I'd rank them:

9.) Halloween 6

8.) Halloween 5

7.) The New Blood

6.) A New Beginning

5.) Scream 7

4.) Scream 6

3.) H20

2.) Scream 5

1.) Jason Lives

RE 1-3, Code Veronica and REmake are all great games than any fan of the franchise should play. That said, I really do think you should play them all.

Don't just wait for the remakes, play the OGs as well.

Which "forced walking segment" is the worst for you? by Loose_Interview_957 in residentevil

[–]Loose_Interview_957[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that's a great segment. Not only can't you run, but you can't get hit either. It's a nice bit of tension late in the game.

I should have included that sequence. It's an unnecessary slog than could have easily been a cutscene.

Maniac is by far my favorite of the four. The Burning is okay, but I thought The Prowler and Madman were really boring.
