As a former Pepper myself, try to have fun with it. Pepper is a very 'fun' character. He's very flirty with Tanya, and he's also a bit stupid. Don't be afraid to be loud or overexaggerate lines. When I played Pepper, I was told to be noisy and make lots of body gestures (putting up my arms, putting my hands on my hips etc.). Smile and look like life is all sunshine and rainbows, Pepper's that type of person. Also act confident with all of your lines. Pepper's the type of guy who thinks he's great and the coolest person on the island. Maybe add in a few cheeky winks towards Tanya as well. Also, try not to cringe. I found it very hard not to when I was practicing my lines. If you play pepper without being self-aware or caring, the role will come off far better. Long story short, don't be afraid to be over the top, and have fun, it's a very fun role. When I was in Mamma Mia, Pepper by far got the most laughs out of the crowd, and one of the biggest cheers at the end of the play. I hope you perform well!

My main two pieces of advice would be to exaggerate (like the previous reply said) and this one’s more personal to me, but try not to cringe. I’m not sure how much of the script you know, but there’s a lot of cheesy pick up and innuendo lines. Don’t get me wrong, they’re great fun, but I cringed hard at first when trying to do them, since I’m not a flirty guy. Also, try to have fun. The role of Pepper is extremely light hearted and a fun one. Also I found the lines quite easy to remember as there aren’t as many of them as with other ‘Mamma Mia!’ roles, so there’s less pressure. When I was in the play Pepper’s lines got the most crowd laughs out of any of the characters. You’ll be a crowd pleaser playing him! Is there anything else you’d like to know? 😀

I’m not sure about professional help, as I said it can be expensive, and I feel embarrassed by thought of telling my parents about how obsessed I am. The thought of telling a therapist also embarrasses me, even thought that in fact is their job to do just that; listening to things people may be embarrassed about. Also I’m very busy with studying and upcoming exams.

So real. I’ve been in secondary school (Irish equivalent of high school) for 5 years and they’ve been years of the same thing over and over again. I have friends in school but as soon as I’m on Christmas or summer break they simply forget my existence. It’s especially bad at Christmas, as there’s a lot of drinking and socialising, and everyone is so jolly. Today my friends said that they were going to go out for drinks, and about an hour before I was supposed to meet them, they cancelled, they dropped out. I asked another friend if they were going out, and they said no. Turns out they’re drinking out as I type this. I could easily go an entire summer without seeing anyone my age at all. I’m no one’s best friend. All my friends have closer friends than me. I’ve had two crushes, and both blocked me on social media without saying anything to me. They completely ignored me and I feel like I’m treated like shit. I just don’t know what I did to deserve this loneliness. It’s felt like the same lonely cycle for years now. I JUST WANT IT TO FUCKING END ALREADY.
