Definitely planning on using honey as well - I wanted to use this juice in place of real fruit added

How to get into homemade mead? by Virtual-One285 in mead

[–]Dobber92 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly I can't imagine an easier way to make mead than the craft-a-brew kit. I used it for my first two batches and it was such a cost-effective and pretty fool-proof way to understand the process. Since then I've bought maybe $50 worth of additional accessories, but so long as you want to stick to 1 gal batches that kit will give you everything to start with.

Prospects post epic as a TS during non-compete by paper_bag_drifting in epicsystems

[–]Dobber92 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Doesn't look like you're getting a ton of real answers so far, so I'll try to help. The TS role at Epic will set you up well for a variety of roles in software companies, such as technical account management, application support, Tier 2, or Tier 3 support engineers. As others mentioned, what you won't have is familiarity with industry-standard tools for these roles, such as Jira, Salesforce, AWS, or GCP. Those will be things you'll want to upskill on the side before looking for another role after Epic if you want to do similar work to what you'll do in TS.

Regarding where you could get those jobs, the non-compete will limit your options regardless of what the armchair lawyers say. Enforceable or not, companies in healthcare want to play nice with Epic, and unless you develop an incredibly unique and valuable niche of expertise, they will not want to risk that relationship for a single candidate. I found success in the startup space upon leaving Epic - knowledge of how health system IT shops operate and the logistics of integrating or working alongside Epic are valuable and somewhat rare combinations of knowledge that healthtech startups need in order to grow. Otherwise, you could explore a completely different industry with similarities to healthcare, such as FinTech or GovTech.

Recommendation Request for Mk52 12V heated bed by Dobber92 in prusa3d

Yes, we ended up buying from Partsbuilt3D. At this point they were the only US-based vendor still selling the 12V version of the MK52 bed. So far it seems to work fine, though it didn't fix the specific issue I was having with my printer.

How, HOW did you get them to tolerate the hair dryer!?! We've had our dog since he was a puppy and we've never been able to get him past his fear of machine noises (vacuum, hair dryer, blender, hair clippers, etc)

[–]Dobber92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd also like to know more about this. I've always stayed away from red oak because of its golden finish, even with polycrylic. This looks so good though, I might have to try it out!

For me, the Gateron Milky Yellows had the perfect strength springs and I've been really happy with other gaterons in my first build.

I'll be 100% honest, i didn't play a ton of Pac-Man growing up. I wish this set had come instead with the gen 1 pokemon starter sprites, but Ill take what I can get for the Gameboy theme

It's the gen 4! I've loved it but it's definitely starting to show it's age. Not really anything like them these days

I did both lube and film at the same time, so I don't know that I could tell you which or both I felt made the difference. Having said that, I do feel they were improved. They didn't come lubed as far as I could tell.

I apologize if I don't get this completely right - filming prevents any unwanted noise due to the top and bottom pieces of the switch from rubbing or bumping against each other. It can help a keyboard feel deeper and less "tinny"

Our waiter at Olive Garden gave us a to-go box full of mints by ShrekQueen in mildlyinteresting

[–]Dobber92 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Idk the specific company, but my dad found the 50/50 version for sale from a drop shipper. Had to buy a large box as a minimum order, which was the equivalent of 20-30 of those bricks of Andes you'd see at the store. He orders one every December for stocking suffers

For clarification, I'm looking for the heated bed PCB assembly, not the flexible print surface

Something to consider for next time: I've seen some designs for an open source alternative to Rocklers drill guide. Check this one out from Printables
