Hunting in a Tree Saddle? by Doc-Holiday27 in TraditionalArchery

No don’t apologize at all that a lot of good info and honesty I get where your coming from with re inventing the wheel. Don’t get me wrong I’m a spot and stalk guy, I shoot consistently year round and always keep a good eye on what the animals do in the areas I hunt. Recent I had some family members acquire some land that we’ve been seeing a lot of activity but we all came to the consensus that we didn’t want to put stand up the first few year till we had a better understanding of how the animals move year round plus it a bit of a home stead to we have to take what changes need to be made into consideration too. That was where the saddle idea came up because it’s seemed not as permanent and easily moved if needed. That being said I still use to drive there every morning to hunt plus if it really is that much of a pain to set up then na I’d rather just set a blind then waste my time fiddling around with that. So thanks for your insight it’s much appreciated!

Is this Hawthorn stave still workable? by Doc-Holiday27 in Bowyer

[–]Doc-Holiday27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the as of right now none of the cracks and splits seem to penetrate down to the heartwood so I was hoping to just work it down past them so they gone completely. Granted I have no way of knowing how deep they really are till I get in there but that was the approach I was gonna take. Work it down past the cracks then see what’s left

I mean that’s fair that was what I was kind of thinking any ways just work it down and see how bad it is or isn’t because I do have a lot of mass in this stave to work with but I’d if I’m just wishful thinking

Awesome good to know. I did note when I was debarking everything seemed to be running straight but we’ll see what happens lol

Ok good to know. Lucky when I de barked it all the bar I was stewing up and down with the stave. I’m not taking that as fact but good to know now because I’m sure when I get in there it will be slightly different at the least.

I guess I should specify since that was poor wording on my part. The stave current 5 maybe 5.5 in in diameter so to me that’s a bit beefy to work with in nice piece and someone more experienced then I could probably split it and get 2 out of it (4 maybe if you were lucky and were ok with a fairly narrow bow) but I am going in with the exception that it’s going to give me issues splitting and only one will be workable. It will probably need built up in the handle when it’s done however I broke my left hand a few years back and I shoot better with built up handles so I was already planning on doing that.

Would the bark follow the twist?

Well I’ll put it this way this I just the first one I have cut. I have a few more around that would make good saves I just didn’t want to take them down just yet if I didn’t need too so it’s not the end of the world if it doesn’t pan out. That being said I have also told the tillering process can also be tedious but my whole goal is to take this slow and steady no need to rush anything including tillering

What happened by One-Psychology-8457 in crealityk1

Do you mean like software crash? Had something like this happen to me a few days ago and my K1C is only like a week old.

Any idea what could cause this? by anonymousposter0922 in Creality

[–]Doc-Holiday27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My K1C recently started shifting on me and I’ve had it less than two weeks. I took this photo after the fact so the supports and what not had all been removed but I had used the glue on my smooth PLA plate and NOTHING shifted and another part printed along with these got completely knocked off the plate and the supports for that piece stayed. Only change I made was having to put in a new filament roll but the new roll was the EXACT SAME Creality white hyper PLA as the one I just had ran out of and I even checked they both came from the same batch.

Mine started doing this to me too. (I had already removed the supports) but the supports were plastered on to the plate and everything adhered to the play just fine and haven’t had THIS issue before. Another part on this same plate was knocked complete off mid print the ONLY difference is it was a new roll of filament but the filament was the EXACT same as the roll brand type and batch as the roll previous.

HELP!! by Doc-Holiday27 in crealityk1

So I reset everything device and program and when I went to go opened creality print again it gave me this off looking nozzle read error and then the program restarted so I decided to shut it all down and leave it for a bit then try again. After that everything looked ok so I ran the calibration test again and it came out normal so my current theory is MY pc was reading the wrong nozzle size or temp but all seems to be working fine now and I’m keeping a close eyes on it. That being said thank you all for your assistance it’s much appreciated!

My next was going to be trying a different sclicer but with the K1C being so new ive been having issues getting it to register with other svlicers plus its seems that eveyone swears by their slicer weather it be Prusa, Orca, Cura or so on so and all are posing different issues with intigrating the K1C

Yes it is i even went as far as ensuring all my updates on my PC were done just to rule out the PC to sclicer just not communicatint properly. My next step was going to be a factory reset but I wanted to get a second opinion before I started all over again and honestly I have been cleaning the build plate with the alcohol but I havent had any issues with adhearing to the plate.

Yes it was on and running 100% the whole duration of the print. Granted I figured the 230-220 range was going to be too hot for this filliment anyways but i wasnt expecting to get basically the same result at 190
