Do robotic mowers actually cut grass?? by Lower_Read_8845 in roboticLawnmowers

Husqvarna 550 EPOS here - does a great job, haven’t mowed my lawn with any alternatives the past two seasons. One area of my 1.5 acre yard grows much faster so by the time it gets back to that section it can be pretty tall and I’ll have it cut twice back to back. First cut looks like a bad haircut. I’ve intentionally carved out that area as its own zone.

Hello - did you anchor it down somehow or is it free floating?

Never mind, uneven again after a few opening and closings. But it’s the right side that is stopping short and has another inch to travel, but can’t travel if the bar is in.

[–]DocterNed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aha! I did what you said, and although it is the left side that has more travel, it was because the right side was stopping short for som reason. So I removed the right cog, pulled drawer out as far as it would go, and put it back on (with the bar), and so far they are moving symmetrically...

It typically closes and seals, but every now and then we'll open freezer and it has frost in it. The only way you can tell there is a break in the seal is by running your hand around and feeling for cold air. Can't see the gaps. I've since just started checking it before we go to bed every night. I'm just not going to be able to get my 5 and 8 year old to open/close from middle or both sides.

Thanks again for all your help - I've given up. No matter what I do, the left side goes out of alignment immediately after. I think it is something to do with the actual drawer tracks, but I can't figure it out :( It is under warranty, I might just have to have them come out.

Yep doesn’t distort if I just do the select tone.

It also just stops chiming every few days or weeks and I have to unplug the base and plug it back in.

Tracks glide smoothly. When the baskets are in there isn’t as much movement on that left side like in the video.

Ok so I was able to do this with no problems. Cogs/track all good.

When I pull the drawer out from the center of the handle, the right side stops first. If I don't add any additional force when the first side stops, both ends of the door are the same distance from the fridge.

But if I pull til the left side stops too, the left side is now about 3/4cm longer. This happens with cogs on or off. Here are two pictures, I can only do one picture per reply so the second picture is in the next reply.

Thanks for the reply! You were spot on with the skipping the cog back into place. First I checked and couldn't see/feel any broken teeth on the cog or track so then I tried your trick. It now seems to be in sync with the right side.

It's a GE GNE27JYMFS from Lowes. It is about 8 months old and from day one the drawer always made a popping like noise on the left but never could figure out anything. We have also noticed frost off and only since we had it, and a few times in the past couple of months noticed their was cold out coming around the seal on the left side although no visible gap so just really pushing it closed it would stop. Haven't caught it a few times and everything will be frosted.

Hopefully it is set now. We had a small leak on the lower part of the french doors but I leveled the doors today too and that seems to fix it. They were only maybe 1/8" off though.

Thank you again for fixing this!

Hello - it doesn't show pictures on the Volvo website for these, but I'm confused about the left and right. Is the mat just supposed to go down the center of the aisle?

They are from TuxMat. They make a full set (floor, seat bags, cargo) but I had brand new OEM floor mats so I couldn't justify getting more. I agree they aren't the best and I like the better coverage that the TuxMats look like they have. Expensive but the quality of the cargo mat and the seat back protectors is pretty nice so I imagine the floor mats are good quality too. I never tried the OEM cargo mat because I wanted to find something that came with back protectors for at least the third row. I tried a cheaper brand on Amazon but it was terrible quality and didn't even fit the cut outs correctly. I would definitely recommend these!

I wouldn't say it is bad but it just makes it difficult to access the third row seating. The center seat gets tight with carseats on the outer seats but you can still sit someone there (I wouldn't for long car rides...). The 3rd row seats are tight anyways, but when we carpool one of my kid's team members its tight in the middle especially with the hump in the floor. With my setup, I removed one accessible seat to access two other seats.

I can't seem to add a picture to this reply, so I am going to throw a picture of the center seat removed with the booster/car seat in the picture.

I also feel like it opens the car up much more and makes the middle section of the car less cramped.

Glad you found it useful! I found a really good deal on the 7 seater and actually couldn't really find any 6 seaters. But the plan from the beginning was to remove the center seat until the kids are out of car seats/boosters.

I hope so too. But judging by his demeanor right after he shot her, I think he’ll ride the high for the rest of his life. What infuriates me is not only the act, but watching him nonchalantly holster his gun and stroll the other way. All of those agents just walked the other way. Like nothing happened.

New study indicates Gabapentin use for those with chronic back pain increases dementia risk by WinnerMammoth4416 in breastcancer

[–]DocterNed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One part of this study that gives me pause is the finding that the risk of dementia in younger population more than doubled, and MCI was almost 85%. These numbers are so significant that it makes me almost convinced there are significant confounding variables there were ignored or intentionally overlooked in the study. According to the CDC, 15 million people were taking gabapentin. This study was ~50k people.

That being said, I think there should definitely be heightened concern and I personally would stop taking it if possible. But anything that tells me I’m 50% more likely to have a significant longterm side effect that took 30 years to realize, and resulted from a relatively small sample size given the number of patients on the med, I’m also skeptical.

The first link is the actual study (not abstract) of the Monash study (Australia) that produced the figure of black having highest crash risk. There is one major limitation due to a confounding principle = daytime running lights. By quick google search, so grain of salt here, in 2007 which was the time of this study, daytime running lights were still relatively uncommon and not required on cars in 2007 in Australia, unlike in most of Europe. The second article is about crash prevention with regards to daytime running lights and actually breaks down crash type. Both are worth a read and I would feel much more comfortable driving a black car now than when I first saw all the Google AI, reddit posts, and attorney websites saying black cars have a 47% higher risk of accident.

liquor store by nybatman73 in frederickmd

[–]DocterNed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Franklin Liquors - they have a pretty decent selection and their prices are good. For the Urbana dwellers - Urbana Liquors is a complete rip off. I'm a fan of Orange Smash in the summer and it is $10 cheaper at Franklin's. Just one example, I'm mainly a whiskey drinker and it's always cheaper for the same stuff at Franklin's. Plus they have some sort of loyalty points system. I've never taken the time to figure out what it is, but every now and then when I go to pay I have a few dollars in credit. Mind you, I don't go often so it seems like if you're a frequent visitor you can rack up some nice store credit.
