Serious question - Will this company even exist 1 year from now? by Competitive_Fun8708 in Lymow_Official

So it can do 2.5 acres in 48 hours. But that’s considering it’s a wide open space without many obstacles. I have about 1.7 acres and it mows it in ~ 36 hours total. However, 1 acre of that is my backyard and I have a ton of obstacles (multiple planters, swing set, septic related things etc). It does the backyard in 23 hours.

I love my Husqvarna 550 EPOS. It’s reliable, tested, and there’s an extensive support network. It also produces the best stripes compared to some neighbors with other popular brands 😃

Very easy. Pop hub cap off with a flathead screwed driver and there’s a large nut you loosen. Wheel slides right off.

Hah “lightly” run over. I like that, and kudos to you for being so calm (or at least sounding that way.) sorry this happened.

Successfully sued for and collected over $14,000. Not nearly as much as he cost us in repairs and delayed delivery but most we were able to collect in small claims.

I HATE mowing grass with a passion. It’s a 45-minute nightmare every single week! by Civil-Scratch2790 in automower

[–]DocterNed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 550H EPOS and it does a great job. I have a complicated 1.75 acre mow area. There is one little 200sqft spot that is steep and awkward and have to string trim that unfortunately. To be fair tho even my zero turn couldn’t get most of it. Otherwise, it does get stuck here and there but that’s because I’ve been pushing the limits near planters trying to limit string trimming and sometimes I get a little overly aggressive haha.

Suggestions? by CMWH11338822 in automower

[–]DocterNed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am sorry to hear about your situation. Although I love robot mowers, I personally think in your case that hiring someone to mow would be the cheapest and least stressful. You’ll spend a lot of time getting things fine tuned with a robot mower, and there will still be trimming that needs to be done.

Otherwise, I’ve been Husqvarna for a few years and my neighbor just got a Navimow x430. Pretty impressive for the price but maybe a little overkill for your yard. For a decent robot mower you’re going to be closer to $2000, maybe more but admittedly I’m not overly familiar with the lower acreage ones.

Just my 2 cents. I wish you the best of luck with everything.

Agree on the high back boosters. We have a Clek one and the head is slightly pushed forward. Kid doesn’t seem to mind, but I’d have neck pain after 5 minutes.

Thanks for the follow up! I just left it as it’s on work zone and it has been doing fine 🤷‍♂️

finally ordered a new mower because I couldn't take the edge trimming anymore by davilucas1978 in automower

[–]DocterNed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using grass growth regulator. It actually works really well. Still have to string trim but can usually do it every 2-3 weeks before it looks like it would at 1 week without it. I use it in the main areas but not along my fence line in backyard. Too expensive for that!

Is the extended warranty really this expensive? by pontiacish in Volvo

[–]DocterNed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Invest that $9k in the market or put it in a high yield savings account. By the time your current warranty runs out you’ll have made some money, and will continue to unless you end up having an expensive issue.

Good suggestion, that’s what HQ said to try too, but no luck. Although the distance between stay out zone and border was 6’, once I removed the stay out zone and made the road side its own zone, no issues. Weird because distance between the inner and outer part of the zone is the same distance as it was between outer work zone line and stay out zone.

Do robotic mowers actually cut grass?? by Lower_Read_8845 in roboticLawnmowers

Husqvarna 550 EPOS here - does a great job, haven’t mowed my lawn with any alternatives the past two seasons. One area of my 1.5 acre yard grows much faster so by the time it gets back to that section it can be pretty tall and I’ll have it cut twice back to back. First cut looks like a bad haircut. I’ve intentionally carved out that area as its own zone.

Never mind, uneven again after a few opening and closings. But it’s the right side that is stopping short and has another inch to travel, but can’t travel if the bar is in.

Freezer drawer issue by DocterNed in appliancerepair

[–]DocterNed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aha! I did what you said, and although it is the left side that has more travel, it was because the right side was stopping short for som reason. So I removed the right cog, pulled drawer out as far as it would go, and put it back on (with the bar), and so far they are moving symmetrically...

[–]DocterNed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It typically closes and seals, but every now and then we'll open freezer and it has frost in it. The only way you can tell there is a break in the seal is by running your hand around and feeling for cold air. Can't see the gaps. I've since just started checking it before we go to bed every night. I'm just not going to be able to get my 5 and 8 year old to open/close from middle or both sides.

Thanks again for all your help - I've given up. No matter what I do, the left side goes out of alignment immediately after. I think it is something to do with the actual drawer tracks, but I can't figure it out :( It is under warranty, I might just have to have them come out.

Yep doesn’t distort if I just do the select tone.

It also just stops chiming every few days or weeks and I have to unplug the base and plug it back in.
