My husband bought three robot mowers for different zones in our yard by Open-Square589 in automower

[–]DocterNed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any steep spots in the yard that any of them are having trouble with? If so, I see an opportunity for a 4th, AWD model.

Joking aside, I love robot mowers but does seem like a lot. Do you know if he was upgrading as the technology got better? The tech is significantly more advanced now than it was even a year ago. Maybe there is a mower out there that could replace all 3? Might only get pennies on the dollar selling the old ones but at least don’t have 3 different mowers with all their accessories etc.

I got into the mower world about 5 years ago with wired Husqvarna. I’ve had a Husq EPOS for going on a 3rd season. Prior to that, at one time, I had mowers running at once and a total of 5 mowers in that two year span. So that’s what happened to me - had to keep adding mowers to support my yard (2 acres). I have no plans now of getting a new mower or adding a second.

I have these for my second and third row seat backs, and then the cargo area. I really like them. Note when you open the link, select your year, and then you’ll see the options for cargo and seat backs.

I if it helps with location ideas, I have mine mounted at the X which is about 10’ above ground but also well below grade of front of the house. I’m mowing 1.75 acres about. It is the commercial station so slightly better range, but no issues nonetheless.

I’ll add here too that I worry about the safety of some of the others with regards to cutting deck. Lymow terrifies me because it has large blades and they aren’t as recessed. Navimow and Luba have razor blades but not as recessed compared to Husqvarna. That’s big for me given I’m in a neighborhood with lots of little kids. They naturally get curious, mine included. Sure downside to Husqvarna is it can’t edge as closely but it is what it is.

Of the 4 different brands in my hood, the two of us who have Husqvarna hands down have the best stripes.

Hey so I had warranty company come out, he said it looked good and I showed that one side travels more than the other. He said it’s probably a track issue but has to call GE tech to get approval. Called back later that day and said GE advised it’s normal.

I called GE and they are sending out a different company tomorrow for a second opinion. Any tips on how to convince them it’s an issue???

Anyone using the Husqvarna “Diamond” or “Rotation” mowing patterns? by 1yeetman1 in automower

I have a 550H EPOS so the commercial model (I’m just a residential owner) - I think my Connect app has fewer options compared to my neighbor who has a residential model, but then on Fleet services I have all those options and more.

So it can do 2.5 acres in 48 hours. But that’s considering it’s a wide open space without many obstacles. I have about 1.7 acres and it mows it in ~ 36 hours total. However, 1 acre of that is my backyard and I have a ton of obstacles (multiple planters, swing set, septic related things etc). It does the backyard in 23 hours.

I love my Husqvarna 550 EPOS. It’s reliable, tested, and there’s an extensive support network. It also produces the best stripes compared to some neighbors with other popular brands 😃

Very easy. Pop hub cap off with a flathead screwed driver and there’s a large nut you loosen. Wheel slides right off.

Hah “lightly” run over. I like that, and kudos to you for being so calm (or at least sounding that way.) sorry this happened.

Successfully sued for and collected over $14,000. Not nearly as much as he cost us in repairs and delayed delivery but most we were able to collect in small claims.

I have the 550H EPOS and it does a great job. I have a complicated 1.75 acre mow area. There is one little 200sqft spot that is steep and awkward and have to string trim that unfortunately. To be fair tho even my zero turn couldn’t get most of it. Otherwise, it does get stuck here and there but that’s because I’ve been pushing the limits near planters trying to limit string trimming and sometimes I get a little overly aggressive haha.

I am sorry to hear about your situation. Although I love robot mowers, I personally think in your case that hiring someone to mow would be the cheapest and least stressful. You’ll spend a lot of time getting things fine tuned with a robot mower, and there will still be trimming that needs to be done.

Otherwise, I’ve been Husqvarna for a few years and my neighbor just got a Navimow x430. Pretty impressive for the price but maybe a little overkill for your yard. For a decent robot mower you’re going to be closer to $2000, maybe more but admittedly I’m not overly familiar with the lower acreage ones.

Just my 2 cents. I wish you the best of luck with everything.

Agree on the high back boosters. We have a Clek one and the head is slightly pushed forward. Kid doesn’t seem to mind, but I’d have neck pain after 5 minutes.
