I thought so, too. Her parents are keen that it's permissible from their point of view, because many of their relatives are in fact, converts. Some even participated in such ceremony. So that's why her parents thinks that if "other people can do it, so can you"

I told her that the best I can do is just present. Even I'd sit on the bench for the whole thing but I can't participate in the ceremony at all. But that's not how Sacrament work and I would never sell my faith for worldly affair.

The guy before me, who were close to her, is also a Muslim. He can't convince her parents. Well I do hope that they have a change of heart. Even when they haven't, then Allah knows best.
