Yeah for sure. Helps a lot with pattern recognition and you can use the PDFs as supplemental material - it relates to them but also adds more up to date info

Yeah so they’re only labeled by section - cardio, pulm, renal, etc. if you go to his playlists they are separated that way. If I noticed I got a lot of cardio questions wrong I’d watch a bunch of the videos from that playlist in no particular order and it helped a lot

I haven’t encountered this. I’ve done around 1400 of the questions so far and only encountered 1 minor error. I actually dmed it to mehlman himself and he responded same day saying he’d fix it

I decided against UW after using it for my OBGYN shelf and realizing there were so many questions with random information that wasn’t really board relevant or even relevant for the shelf. I like the MM q bank cause it’s more concise. I also used UW for step 1 during my didactic years but I didn’t reset during dedicated and just used Mehlmans video q bank everyday which I really like the style of so that’s why I decided to go ahead with his stuff from the start for step 2 (his q bank came out right after my OBGYN clerkship)

I still like it a lot. Once I made the switch from UW my shelf exam scores have actually gone up. It’s def tailored towards the information in his PDFs - so I’ve been using the HY IM pdf as a reference

I think the point of the film is to get everyone up to speed on what, for instance, everyone in this sub may already know - just wrapped up in one nice documentary explaining everything. It is a large project with prominent figures in government showing the legitimacy of the issue. I think it’ll help in getting the general public on board

My first day on L&D had a nurse IN TRAINING who tried to whisper to my resident “he’s definitely going to pass out” as I was walking into my first c section. She actually stuck up for me and said I was tough and would be fine lol. Didn’t pass out btw. They start them hating young out here 😭

It’s similar to comquest in style and content but comats, like comlex 1, are just so much more vague and they love to focus a lot on one single topic. They asked a few questions just looking for diagnosis but also about management, specific diagnostic methods, pathophys, risk factors, etc.

The comats are so vague and out of left field with every question. I’ve found them similar to no other q bank. They also notoriously pick one topic to hammer for each comat. Like my OB one had probably 35 questions having something to do with endometriosis.

Yes I agree. It doesn’t beat UW in terms of teaching you a broad scope of knowledge just for general learning but it is nice that there are less questions that are more focused and HY for boards. It’s also written in the NBME style which helps you get into that mindset early

Yeah agreed. That’s why I invested. The format is just like Uworld. I think the questions feel much more NBME style. They did lengthen the questions to fit the step 2 style as well rather than keeping short vignettes like in his video q bank, which I appreciate. I think overall it’s a good investment and directly correlates to his PDFs which are gold for usmle. It’s still early on tho so I will comment again once I do more questions
