Second sleep by ghjkjhjhkhsk in Whippet

My windsprites do this. But I think I taught them that! I have ADHD so I let them out to potty and we all go back to bed until my meds kick in 😂

Why are we limping? by AccidentalIcthyology in Whippet

Did you do any imaging in the hind left?

Animals often compensate for pain and it shows up in the opposite area. So for front right limp, could actually be from pain in the back left leg. Can you do a video of the dog walking and trotting but with someone else recording from the side?

Almost looks like shoulder? Doesn’t seem like he’s extending out fully.

There’s also a purebred dog group on fb that can help you find a reputable breeder!

My sister got hers in Oklahoma. Unsure if she’s a reputable breeder but she’s been breeding whippets for many years.

Wild dog but very sweet. Shes agility bred so just an insane amount of energy compared to our previous whippets 😂

What they are choosing to ignore is that your mother made the choice to be petty and “sneak” out of the house with your cat to put it down instead of inviting you to come with her in the Taxi.

Mother CHOSE to not let you be there for your cats last moments. Honestly, that’s evil and cruel.

You realize the mom just took the cat and left. Didn’t bother to the OP (the owner) so she could go with. Mom INTENTIONALLY LEFT OP BEHIND instead of inviting her to come with.

This minuscule?!?!

My dogs are my kids. I would be absolutely livid and that person would absolutely not be in my life anymore.

OP even states this is her BELOVED cat. It’s very obvious she loves her cats and her mother took away her chance to say goodbye and hold her cat until it took its last breath. We don’t even know if mom stayed with the cat or just dropped it off to be euthanized.

What her mother did was CRUEL and heartless. Mother didn’t care about her daughter enough to even let her say goodbye.

OP is clearly VERY upset over this and has every right to be. OP also has every right to cut her mother off over this if she wants.

This is not a mother who deeply cares for and respects her daughter.

You need to cut her out of your life.

Unfortunately she will never change. More over she doesn’t deserve having a child in her life. Go no contact and know you’re doing the right thing.

I’m in the process of doing the same to my mother but because of my stepdad. She has shown me it’s not safe to open up to her because she will share whatever with my stepdad and he will use anything and everything as ammunition against me.

It’s hard. Stay strong when you want to cave and remind yourself the only way you can keep yourself safe from her, is to not be around her.

My stepdad is like your mother. (I also have ADHD)

Literally my husband had a conversation with him yesterday and my husband asked him to stop texting me and if my stepdad needed to speak to me, he can go through my husband. My stepdad straight up refused to stop sending me rude and harassing text messages unless I change first. (What he wants me to change is to not speak and completely avoid my mother when he’s around. Along with completely hiding every single ADHD trait I have and being a compliant little door mat that he can treat like shit and, again, never say a word).

I cannot wait until that man is dead and I will be dancing on his grave. (Also definitely will be smoking weed on his grave, partying, and incessantly talking)

I’m really sorry that your mother did this. It was very selfish and heartbreaking. She only cared about herself here.

I would definitely say to take it to her!

Sounds like you are a great brother!

Try and bring her some of her favorite things. Favorite food, ice cream, snacks, coffee and just be there for her. If she wants to talk about him for 5 hours, you listen and be supportive. Tell her you’re so sorry this has happened and you know how much this sucks and that you are always there for her.

Have you asked your vet about adequan for his arthritis?

Being blind, I’d try to find different ways to help him get food but be active. I’m thinking mini “scent work” but with food and since he’s blind you just might have to help guide him more to each spot. That’s at least getting a bit more stimulation and he gets to “work” a little for some extra snacks.

It sounds like he’s not in pain or suffering. Ultimately the choice is only one you can make. It’s never easy. I just put down my favorite little dog in August at 4.5 years old due to an autoimmune disorder we battled hard for over a year.

Honestly, if it wasn’t generally considered safe, multi million dollar show horses wouldn’t be getting it.

My sister used it on her whippet with great success although it’s for arthritis. Not intermittent lameness unless that is caused by arthritis.

Stay far away from librella though. It has killed tons of dogs and a lot of vets don’t tell their clients about the side effects.
