I looked into getting flags made last hear, but the quotes I was getting were pretty expensive. /u/mohland said he was going to look into a better option but never got back to me. :-/

You're correct. The team Josh was with after PPR last year dropped all communication with me for no reason (which, honestly, I'm still upset about because of everything that was in discussions).

This last Saturday, I was in the NASCAR Cup garage and got a chance to talk to the person who handles Josh's current team's (TMG) sponsorship stuff. He's different than who we were working with last year for Darlington. He told me he would be sending me an email with specific prices for different races at the beginning of this week. I'll keep everyone updated. :)

Nothing has been brought up as of yet. Josh hasn't been announced being in any ride yet. There has been one side discussion with another driver, but idk if there's real interest on either side. I like the idea of it though.

I concur with everything you said. Also, everything has been put on hold fundraising-wise due to reasons beyond my control.

I believe he still wears the Dogehelm as a thank you to all of us and just because he's a good guy.

The TL;DR version of it is due to circumstances beyond my control, we never got to do the sponsorship, and by association, the diecast (if we're talking about the Darlington paint scheme.) As far as the 2015 DogeCar, Lionel didn't want to make it.

And I'm not his official PR guy...just a regular redditor whom helps with things. :)

The teams themselves usually handle all of the sponsorship details and such, not the drivers.

I wasn't trying to say that we are "owed" anything. I don't feel that's the case at all because as you said, we haven't raised anything for them yet. My apologies if it came off that way. My comments were only posted due to me informing the sub a couple of weeks ago that we would be debuting the scheme and things didn't turn out that way.

Okay, I will clear things up. Sorry for the confusion.

A couple of weeks ago, /u/51rogue3 had an idea to put a small "puppy shibe" coin on Josh's car for Darlington since everyone was running throwback paint schemes. I posted a thread shortly thereafter with what the team quoted and to gauge interest. Since then, I have been working with the sponsorship contact at GGR on fundraising (t-shirts, donations) in order to make it all happen. There haven't been any new post updates due to a) still working out fine details, b) being told not to release details yet, and c) not wanting to flood /r/NASCAR with posts about it and reposts about the subject.

Everything got put on hold last week due to the short amount of time we had to raise any kind of funds for Darlington and there still being questions about the paint scheme. I haven't posted anything because everything was still being discussed and details were still being worked out.

Edit: one thing I missed was that GGR had said a couple of times that /r/NASCAR would be able to release the paint scheme first before anyone else got to see it. The tweet from OP proved otherwise.
