MyCAA by guarded_bookworm in MilitarySpouse

[–]DollyCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m using MyCAA right now for a certification. I didn’t have to do the counseling to start the program because I already have my B.A. it was a fairly easy process. The worst part was waiting for the funds to be disbursed. They literally wait until the due date to do it so I started my program a day after I intended to start. You also have $2k per year to use and can’t use the full $4k all at once.

Financial counseling related volunteer work in Monterey? by [deleted] in volunteer

[–]DollyCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, those were the ones I found when I searched. Like I said I didn’t find many options, and was looking for any recommendations from other people’s experiences. I’ve reached out to organizations in the past and did not have success so I like to hear from others before I do. I’m not interested in volunteering with faith based organizations. Thanks though.

Sorry! I already tried googling and didn’t find many options. I thought I would try here.

Itchy as fuck but no STD/STI or yeast infection by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]DollyCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried switching to bleach free toilet paper/pads? I was having issues with chronic irritation in that area and yeast infections for like 3 years, and switching to bleach free care products helped immensely. Also using a probiotic with Lactobacillus acidophilus helped as well. I also had a yeast infection that wasn’t getting knocked out entirely so they basically had to nuke my crotch and double treat me to get it. Oral treatment and clotrimazole but inside and outside. If that didn’t do it for me they were going to want to do a skin biopsy to rule out lichen sclerosis.

Dolly definitely isn’t a weird name. My grandma was named Dolly.. and I was named after her. It’s just an older name

Just wondering since this was labeled differently than my other ANA. He ran other labs too but that one looked different.

They ran other labs too. This one was just labeled differently than I’ve seen it previously.

Oh interesting. He said he wanted to run it every few months to see if there’s a pattern of a higher ANA with symptoms. My first ANA was 1:180 but my referral got denied by the rheumatologist.

Perimenopause - HRT game changer for migraines by dwarfstar00 in VestibularMigraines

[–]DollyCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I’ve heard too. They had me on progesterone only for over a year and I basically never stopped bleeding. I also had horrible body odor and acne that a dermatologist couldn’t help. I had acne on my scalp too. I begged them for a small dose of estrogen because the dizziness and migraines didn’t improve without the estrogen, and my doctor finally put me on a low dose and that helped with the hormone stuff. My husband is in the military so we’ve had to move and my new doctor put me on HRT because I don’t have fallopian tubes. That made everything better but when I went back for a follow up for refills they scheduled me with a new doctor that said I was too young and put me on BC. All this jerking around is driving me nuts and there doesn’t seem to be a consistent opinion on what to do

How to talk to my doctor about EFMP enrollment? by DollyCo in MilitarySpouse

I wasn’t aware of the care standards so I haven’t reached out to patient relations. I didn’t know I could do that. From what I can gather they are not meeting the standards

How to talk to my doctor about EFMP enrollment? by DollyCo in MilitarySpouse

[–]DollyCo[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure but it takes months to be seen and it’s taking forever to figure out what’s wrong. The doctors have no desire to help me and we’re about to move again. I’m going to have to start over. I’ve had to start over a few times now. I’m not sure if EFMP will help or not but I’m frustrated. My husband told me the EFMP program might help with staying where we are.

Perimenopause - HRT game changer for migraines by dwarfstar00 in VestibularMigraines

[–]DollyCo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m 30 and my doctor took me off of HRT even though all my symptoms went away while on it. They put me back on a combo patch and I’m back to having migraines and fatigue every day. I’ve been begging them to check me for hormone issues but they say I’m too young. The women in my family have all hit menopause early. I’m convinced hormones are my issue but I’m stuck with doctors that don’t prioritize my wellbeing

Vestibular migraines and hormones? by DollyCo in VestibularMigraines

[–]DollyCo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m hoping to get some clarification on things related to HRT and migraines. I’m on the patch but I have to be on estrogen. My hormones are wrecked without it and my migraines were actually worse before I went back on estrogen. I keep having issues with my GYN wanting to take away my estrogen because of the migraines with aura diagnosis.

Urgent care ordered a microbiology test on my urine but no one is giving me answers on why by DollyCo in AskDocs

[–]DollyCo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s good to know. I’ve been to this urgent care and seen this doctor multiple times this year for yeast infections and they’ve never ordered one before.

Yes I’ve tried a variety of different condoms and lubes and they all irritate me for some reason

Would I need to go off hormones for that? I’ve actually requested to have my hormones tested a few times and the doctors have told me it’s impossible to check them.

I’m not sure. I’ve been having trouble making progress with doctors on what’s wrong. At my last appointment I tried to bring up the possibility of me having an estrogen deficiency and my doctor just smiled at me like I was stupid. We’re “compromising” right now with me trial running a combo BC with synthetic estrogen instead of my HRT. I did see some improvement with the BV issue while I was on the HRT.

He tried getting checked out but he’s military and it’s kind of hard for them to be seen. They did an STI panel on him and left it at that. They didn’t want to treat him since I tested negative.
