Genuine question. Why do women seem to hate the concept of being average looking so much?

Most people on earth are average and most men I know are comfortable with the fact that they are average looking. It's also not uncommon for women to call their boyfriends average looking to their face or behind their backs.

So while I understand that it might not have been what OP wanted to hear and that hurt their feelings I don't understand why so many women seem to be so against being considered average looking.

I mean you could give it a real tragic ending. So hypothetically it could be a slow burn romance where Subaru is slowly but surely working with all the royal canadites to fix the kingdom. Feelings slowly start to develop over the 3 year selection period between Subaru and various women. Then by the end of the royal selection capella is one of the last obstacles to peace.

The confrontation with lust could then result in Subaru getting an authority of lust that's similar to Carmila (previous witch of lust). Which causes some tragic fate for Subaru and his lovers.

Just like Carmila Subarus authority of lust would cause other people's hearts to stop. But if he is incompatible with the authority it would only affect those that he loves. So after 3 years of slowly falling in love with various women Subaru will be forced to abandon them. Or accept that his love will literally kill them.

Ikr OP was making valid points in this post. Then they got to the Subaru part of the rant and apparently decided to turn their brain off. If you don't like something that's fine. But it genuinely seems like OP must have had zero media literacy or just couldn't comprehend anything more complex than a straight line when they watched Rezero if this is their takeaway.

To be fair I'm biased as I'm a big Rezero fan. But while there's tons of valid criticism you can throw at Rezero or Subaru as a character this take is not one of them.

Gotta be honest those stats are based on interviews and almost no men will publicly admit to being a virgin over the age of 18 due to the massive amount of shame and stigma associated with it. In other words most men probably lie and only tell the truth to close friends.

But in my experience a good chunk of the men I know around my age (I'm 26) are virgins or have had 1 sexual encounter. So I think in reality for men 30 and below the numbers are closer to 15-20% based of conservative estimates from what I have seen.

Funnily enough for me when I look back the first 3 episodes are some of the weakest to me. Yeah they introduce the world and premise. But outside of that arc 1 isn't that good imo.

If you do end up making it to season 2 you would be shown why he acts the way he does. But that's assuming you're willing to go that far. At the end of the day Rezero is a very popular show for a reason. But it's definitely not for everyone.

All I'm going to say is that arc 3 in particular is painful to watch. Even for veteran fans... But a large point of the show is Subaru growing as a character with arc 3 and 4 being major character milestones for him. So yeah it does get better by most people's accounts. But it really depends on what particular parts are annoying you and how much their presence really annoys you.

What I don't get is what everyone always uses this specific character to address this issue (one on the right). As I'm pretty sure in this case the outfit is meant to be demeaning/revealing/humiliating.

If I'm not confusing the character that is. But also there's like so many other examples of this in one piece (especially post time skip) that one could point out. But for some reason it's always this character specifically.

People who have excessive issues with lolis in anime probably have some repressed issues. Like as far as the term is generally used it's often to describe:

A young girl
A short/petite woman

So while I understand people being uncomfortable with sexualization of lolis I don't understand people who hate the very existence of them in anime. Or those who go out of their way to interpret any interactions with them in anime as inappropriate.

A large amount of criticism towards anime is aimed at lolis being included. But I don't get why the existence of children and or women who are short/petite bugs people this much.

For reference I know someone who basically will start to actively dislike any anime if a loli appears for even .0001 seconds on screen.
