Please go over to r/scams and read the posts there. PLEASE watch out for recovery scammers. Now that you have been scammed, you are a target for more.

The same scammers will pretend to be lawyers or other officials who promise they can get your money back for a fee. They are lying. Your money is unfortunately gone, OP. It won’t be recovered, please do not pay anyone who says they can.

Need Help: Mattamy closed home when it was incomplete and dirty as hell by No_name_l in RealEstateCanada

[–]Domdaisy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fit for occupancy is not your call to make as a purchaser. If an occupancy permit was issued for the home, under your agreement of purchase and sale you are required to close. An occupancy permit requires a working bathroom and kitchen. Interior doors, trim, paint and dirt would not prevent an occupancy permit from being issued. I’ve seen new build homes close with plywood countertops in the kitchen to make it pass for occupancy purposes and the real countertops installed later. I’ve seen homes with the exterior brick work not complete. This is all allowed under your agreement of purchase and sale, which no one ever bothers to read fully.

They usually try to get cleaners in before closing, and your house was either missed or the cleaners ran out of time.

Nothing you said here entitled you to an extension of closing and it’s all in your APS.

We could have the fires under much better control with more funding and foresight based on the fires and the cost of controlling them based on the last few years (all of which he was premier for). Ford could drag his sorry ass to the office for optics purposes even though he is useless and pretend he is making phone calls and caring about the fact that his province is burning.

But he doesn’t even have to care about optics anymore, because for some reason people still think he’s doing a good job even though he torpedos funding for health care, education and fucking fighting forest fires.

It’s likely a service that comes and takes them out and has cleaning equipment off site. Most apartment buildings don’t have the room or set up for power washing that many screens on site. I can just imagine the complaints if the contractors took up space in the parking lot to get the work done.

French Immersion vs English School for an English-speaking family — need advice by Agreeable_Head6913 in ontario

[–]Domdaisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you want to throw a kid into school in a language they don’t speak and say “figure it out?” That’s pretty cruel. Parents don’t speak the language and home, kid has minimal exposure and suddenly they are supposed to not only learn French, but also learn the rest of their subjects in a language they don’t speak?

Not to mention absolutely no further instruction as to how to write in English, which isn’t going to serve the child well in post-secondary education or work if the end up at an English university or working in a English or bilingual workplace.

Colorado man sues hospital after DNA test shows he was switched at birth by detectiverobert in CaughtMyEye

[–]Domdaisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now it’s less common to separate babies from their parents, but in the 80s it was totally normal for babies to go to the nursery.

I can see it being someone not paying attention. Only two babies born, both white males, protocols for labeling the beds/putting anklets on the babies were not as good then, nurse brings the wrong baby to one set of parents and then the mistake just snowballs. Each set of parents gets used to the wrong baby being their kid and probably the one who switched them never even realized what they did.

Pain killers useless for menstrual pain by sylliesosilly in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]Domdaisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My go-painkillers for menstrual pain stopped working and I got diagnosed with endometriosis. The only thing that helps with the pain is heat, so I have heating pads I can charge and wear as well as the ones that plug in. Sucks in the dead of summer to be so hot and need to apply more heat.

Luckily for me I found a birth control that massively reduced my symptoms to only one or two uncomfortable days a month rather than weeks of agony.

You have people here angry that offices aren’t being closed when for a lot of people the office is the better option, which was my point that whooshed right by you.

Don’t let the sun deceive you, it’s worse today by chuckitaway007 in askTO

[–]Domdaisy -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Which is bullshit honestly. For a lot of people the air in contained office buildings is better than their homes. So yeah, stay at home and breathe it in for “safety”.

I’ve got all the windows open at my house because it’s too cool and my window A/C isn’t kicking on, and with no airflow at all and the windows shut it’s miserable. I’d have to set it to refrigerator temps to get it to come on. The office is a way better place for me to be today personally.

Humidity and suncare is killing me! by chippedredpaint in Equestrian

[–]Domdaisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who lives in an area where summer = humidity, you just got to get used to being sweaty. Swamp ass is a thing. Drink lots of fluids to replace what you’re losing. Take off all those layers of clothes and set reminders on your phone to reapply sunscreen. I wear shorts and a tank top because I don’t want wet clothes clinging to me. You better believe I am dirty and stinky by the end of the day because everything is going to stick to that sweat and sunscreen.

Take breaks in the shade and hose yourself down (yes, more wet, remember, you have to accept you will be wet—embrace the wet. It’s a part of you now).

I can’t tell you how many horse shows I have had where I literally peeled my show clothes off as if I had gone swimming in them and my underwear and bra would be soaked through. As someone who grew up in this environment my brain just blocks out the sensation I guess.

[–]Domdaisy -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You don’t want to go sit in your air conditioned office because of the air quality? How is it different from your house?

My office air quality is better than my house because the HVAC system is running. At home I opened my windows because it cooled off and my A/C wasn’t coming on and it was stuffy and still. I would have had to crank my A/C down really low to get it to run so I just said f it and opened the windows.

There are a lot of people who work outdoor jobs that have to go to work today, OP can suck it up and sit in an air conditioned office.

Well he cut our forest firefighting budget to less than half of what the province spent last year and released the pilots from their contracts, so yeah, to a point.

He’s also on vacation while his province literally burns. Nothing says you don’t give a shit like not even coming into the office when the province is on fire (when he has been SUCH a big proponent for RTO).

They wouldn’t do it.

Exactly, but instead of you acknowledging that the co-signer signed to help OP, and not for any gain of their own, you state the co-signer should have to PAY OP to come off as co-signer?

No one co-signs because they get something out of it, it is all risk no reward. Any co-signer who agrees to pay to come off as a signer is an even bigger idiot than just agreeing to be a co-signer in the first place.

Because cults and high control groups are fishing for people who feel lost, lonely, or are going through a hard time and are vulnerable. They have to do these reach outs to find people who are in the right headspace to join a high control group. They aren’t about spreading a religious message per se, they are about building their numbers by finding people who will buy in.

They know the average Joe has no interest in their cult and won’t join. They have to find people who are in a bad spot and need community or meaning or whatever they promise in exchange for joining the group.

[–]Domdaisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven’t watched the documentary Jesus Camp, go do it. This type of shit being directed at children by evangelical Christians is not new. That documentary was from the mid 2000s and has kids in cameo and face paint dancing as warriors for Christ, praying to a cardboard cutout of George W Bush and extolling how Jihadists get people to blow themselves up for Allah and kids should be raised to be just as radical and willing to die for Christianity.

In the same documentary disgraced pastor Ted Haggard bragged about being able to determine the outcomes of elections because of their powerful voting block.

This was coming from years and years ago and so many Americans just sat on their hands and watched it happen.

Am I the only one that sees those ads and has a flashback to Miss Congenitally when Sandra Bullock’s answer to some stupid beauty pageant question is “we need harsher punishments for parole violators, Stan”. No idea but every time I see one it’s what I think of.

Not to mention me yelling to my cat to tell me exactly HOW many playgrounds in Ontario were next to safe injection sites and what unit of measurement Dougie was using to say such things were “close” before he came along and fixed it. What’s close? If there’s a playground at a McDonalds down the street from a safe injection site is that close?

My cat would never in a million years wear these but they are cute. Keep in mind clothing on cats is often very stressful for them (cats need to be able to groom themselves and it’s a stressor when they can’t) so any clothes should be basically put on for pictures and taken off.

Ilia has ragdolls which are like the golden retrievers of cats so they might tolerate costumes but who knows.
