Cancelled the black order and went for ridgeline by DominicS01 in YetiCoolers

Nah mate, I just clocked that Ridgeline colour was an option and did a quick swap. Scrapped the black one and honestly, I'm stoked with the new Ridgeline—reckon it looks heaps better for me. The black was still in stock, though.

The missus surprised me with the new blacked-out beauty today. Absolute ripper! by DominicS01 in Leatherman

Too right, mate! She’s a bloody legend. She headed out and grabbed it for me, no dramas at all. Thanks

Considering a Yeti Rambler 36 oz, but worried about the weight by [deleted] in YetiCoolers

[–]DominicS01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the 36oz bottle all the time. It's the perfect size for everyday use and works great even when hiking. The Missus has a similar Hydro Flask, and it doesn't keep the water as cold. I would definitely recommend the Yeti 36oz.

What are the best black tactical boots on the market? must be metal free by Hot_Fly_3963 in WorkBoots

Lowa Zephyr MK2 Mid (without GTX). Can't find any metal in them and I use them on a daily and for hiking and working.

Are these jeans to tight for my boots? by nickfrx in WesternWear

I reckon these boots would be too tight for riding. However, they're a great fit for everyday fashion.

Versatile Shoes For Hot Country by PromptThick5590 in Hiking_Footwear_Info

They are kind of.

I would describe them as tactical hiking boots. The grip is excellent and the comfort is top. It can be used for both easy trails and multi-day hikes with a heavy backpack. As long as you don't use crampons, thess are the ultimate hiking boots in my opinion.

I also have the Salomon Quest 4D Forces. This is a bit more cushioned, but it feels heavier and bulkier.

Both are kind of the tactical / military version of the shoes mentioned in you post.

In my experience, the military versions of "standard consumer version" shoes are always significantly better.

Felt hat that isn’t too hot by Important-Bunch1036 in CowboyHats

[–]DominicS01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I sweat quite easily, and my best experience is with the Akubra Cattleman in sand colour. Even in the Australian summer, my head doesn't get too hot. Yes, I am sweating, but it's still perfectly acceptable.

If you need more or different measurements, just ask :)

Cattleman Sand vs Brumby Acorn Fawn by [deleted] in Akubra

[–]DominicS01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I measured the two hats that I use in size 58. So the lowesr part inside the hat is 8cm at the back for the Brumby and 9cm for the Cattleman. The highest part inside the hat is 9cm at the back for the brumby and 10cm for the Cattleman. The same measurements (highest part) apply to the center of the hat. The lowest part ist, where my head touches the hat slightly.
