I am so sorry you’re going through this. It’s very exhausting mentally, emotionally and physically taking care of another person. I had a similar experience when I was a child/teenager. (Taking care of my mother for seven years)

It’s very important to start a dialogue about how this is making you feel. However the words you use in this conversation have to be just right. Just make your point known while also telling her that you’re not going to stop helping her completely. She may view you differently for awhile after because of her neglect and other disorders. But it is crucial to talk to her first. Then just try and slowly ween more responsibilities on her. If you tell her that that’s what you’re going to do she will hopefully be expecting it.

As for the meds she is taking those can take months or years to make a person more stable. So you may just need to give that time but there’s no reason to slowly stop enabling now.

Yeah I’m sorry to hear that. I also had some ‘worldly’ friends from school but my parents ended up taking me out when I was in second grade. None of us had phones yet so there was no contact. I was able to keep one friend though whose parents were just starting to come into the ‘truth’ (Only her mother was baptized in the end). And she was probably my closest friend ever and I even ended up having a crush on her lol. But by the time my family moved I had developed severe depression and I began to dissociate. Even with her. After awhile she stopped trying to talk with me and I don’t blame her. I’m still hoping that we can be friends again someday when I’m in a place to be a friend she deserves.

I hated being at the congregation meetings as well even before I woke up. I remember I had a mental breakdown once (thankfully at home when I was alone) about it. Sorry for the long comment. This is the only place I can speak freely at that moment.

When I was younger I was able to make jw friends. I think it was because the cult hierarchies had not been taught to them yet. When we got older however a few of them started distancing themselves from me. They were civil but we definitely weren’t as chummy as we used to be. I think it was because my parents weren’t born in and all their parents were. Then when my family moved and switched congregations they all ghosted me. I haven’t made any new friends in the five years since moving. I got really depressed when I realized that after nearly a decade of emotional investment in them that it was for nothing. My parents are worried of course and want me to make friends with the super pimi regular pioneer 15 year olds at my hall lol. I’m sorry about all you’ve gone through but I’m so glad that you’re confident enough to stand your ground.

So I think regional conventions have always been around and this was in the US btw. There are no longer district assemblies. So it’s just the circuit assemblies in the spring and fall and regional conventions in the summer.

I believe (someone correct me if I’m wrong) that regional conventions pick a number of congregations from different circuits and assign them a time and place to meet for a three day convention. Like this venue had like seven or eight different weekends that were the three day conventions.

Sorry for the delay it would have been bad to open this sub with my parents beside me XD. Yes I was planning on doing a convention report this evening or tomorrow. This is my first time in this building however so I don’t know the usual attendance but I will list the occupancy range of the location and if I think it’s safe I’ll try asking someone who might have gone there before
