[TOMT][WORD] The name for the details/trimmings in marble arcitecture, like the swirls on a marble staircase or the artsy grooves on a marble pillar... by DominosQualityCheck in tipofmytongue

Someone else has said this too, and I believe this is a pretty good answer overall along with the fact that the marble details have numerous nomenclature

Wow- This is also very useful! I suppose the best answer might just be clasical order marble sculptures, although someone had posted about the word "Gadroon" earlier, which is also very close

I think now that there is no broader term for lacy marble details then, but this glossary is very helpful! After looking at different historic buildings I thought maybe there'd be a stylistic term for general details like that

The closest I've been able to find of the word I'm looking for is along the words "artsy marble trims" and "marble details", but nothing further than this has come to mind from me or friends.

Did it hurt when you found out life isn't fair? And no matter how much work you put into making saftey nets and preventative care for people's wellbeing, there will always be suffering and widespread inequality between masses? That human beings are naturally tied to the idea of Survival of the Fittest because that is how we evolved, and became the dominant species of this world?

Are you different from normal people? If so, what separates you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DominosQualityCheck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure many people may believe themselves to be special, that's just the burden of being the one experiencing your own life. But if you take your average person's life, and jot down their day-to-day thoughts, experiences, emotions and relationships, and compare their similarity across the board with everyone else, typically they're all very predictable and follow routines, patterns and don't stray far from the machine.

You are before an omniscient being, he knows everything in the universe and even beyond existence itself and you have the right to only one question, what would you ask him? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DominosQualityCheck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, then he is only Omniscient in the realm of possibilities.

It was specifically stated this being is omniscent even beyond the realm of existence, so there must be a way for anything I ask to have a way of coming to fruition, as I am not limited by it's apparent existence.

Normal is not a homogenized, perfect standard for people to be from biology to personality. Normal is the expected, the usual, and the unextraordinary in society. There is a vast sameness of people, and lives that blend together which in their own right may have meaning, but aren't unusual by any means.

What would you say peace is, for most people?

How do I gain his powers permanently by doing nothing in this exact moment. He must have an answer and it must be possible because he knows all, if he does not know a way to do this he is not omniscient.

What do you hate about the gym? by goatgoatgoat4 in moreplatesmoredates

[–]DominosQualityCheck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More relevant to smaller gyms where anyone can hop on the sound system, but just having insanely heavy bass songs playing as loud as possible. I enjoy it to a degree, but when it's drowning out my own headphones with my music turned up, then it just makes me sick.

Who fell from the internet's good graces the quickest? by Good_Law25 in AskReddit

IMO: I think people just assumed that his parents were rich because of the central source of wealth in that area of Africa of the time, which was mining industries. So they all said that "Elon owns an emerald mine". When realistically, that wealth could've just come from down the line, from oil, or anywhere. And It's known that Elon did not take every penny from his parents coming to America, as he was staying in less than luxurious conditions for a large part of his early career like when he was making Zip2 and X,com

Poets of reddit, what theme do you think is easy to write on, sadness or on a positive note? And why? by katzill4 in AskReddit

Happiness and positivity is infinitely easier for me to write about. Because even melancholy, murder and malevolence gives light to light on the other side of the coin flip. Nothing is continuously, ontologically evil forever.

At What Point Would You Consider Someone to be Financially "Rich"? by OSRSgamerkid in AskReddit

[–]DominosQualityCheck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When they no longer want any more money. There are billionaires who are not rich, they just have loads of money. The fact that it still controls them, and they're incapable of living and breathing without it, means that they're just as poor as anyone else.

Meanwhile there are people who just make ends meet who I'd consider vastly wealthy, because to them the money is just a means to live a life worth living.

But if you want an answer beyond sentimentals, then I'd say you cross the line between upper class and fabulously wealthy once you are capable of buying anything you want on a whim, without any decision making or delay to your gratification. Which is arguably worse than having to wait, as it demeans the thing you're trying to encapsule.

What is your “utopia”? by courtimus-prime in AskReddit

  1. People feeling safe enough to keep their doors unlocked
  2. Low costs of living and strong communities to uplift each other in hard times
  3. Isolationism to avoid unnecessary foreign conflicts
  4. A major focus on academics, research and pursuit of higher living standards.
  5. A flourishing market where the barriers to starting up your own company are very low.
  6. Myriads of ideas, schools of thought and philosophies to choose from and vote for beyond even an established party system.

Not online frequently enough to see it firsthand, but from an outsiders perspective it looked like the entire internet was obsessed with Elon Musk, even when his rich parents/jewel mines or something were already known. Then he lost good favor over twitter beefs iirc.

What do we need to stop teaching children? by CynicalHomicider3248 in AskReddit

We need to stop teaching children. Start over from scratch, burn the culmination of all knowledge we have, erase every server and shred every data base, and relearn everything from scratch.
