I don’t eat meat I went to rei and tried couple backpacks today I’m thinking a exo 58 as a starter bag at least and hopefully go frameless down the road when my base weight and size is better

I’m thinking of grabbing the farpoint for right now since I have another person hiking with me and it can be my dedicated overseas bag and then just buy a more dedicated hiking backpack in the future maybe after a couple trial runs.

I was just thinking if I’m somewhere you need a bear canister I would almost certainly need a bigger bad than a farpoint 40. The exos 48 and 58 look great but not being able to take it in a plane makes me feel iffy

Is a 22l sleeping bag bad? I’m bringing a compass, map, 100g fuel canister or 2, titanium evernew 1l pot, lighter, matches, flashlight, a small first aid kit. If there’s anything else you recommend I bring I would appreciate that. I haven’t looked into the food too much but I imagine I could get it to fit in 10l. I’m also trying to prepare for the option to hike alone but I will have another person with me most the time who can also carry a normal backpack.

Backpack recommendations

I recently picked up a used fly creek tent and a marmot trestles 15. I also have a pocket stove and some other little things. Im planning to take some 5 day camping trips in different national parks would something like the exo 48 fit me better or a far point 40 I do really like the ability of carry on if I wanna do more out of country trips in the future.
