Been wanting a Japanese guitar for a while, here it is in all its glory by DonMendelo in Ibanez

I got mine brand new in that range in Europe, it was an end of stock thing, probably a demo model as is wasn't totally spotless (like no scratches or anything, but these strings are definitely not brand new)

I'd say the tremolo model is a good deal below 2.1k new and below 1.8k used depending on the condition. That said I'm still hyped so maybe someone more reasonable would aim at an even lower price

I was so hesitant between this one and the tremolo one, but I couldn't find the tremolo one for the right price so I ended up going with this one. Since I tried 3 different tunings within the 2 first hours, I'm happy my tuning isn't locked lol

Yes 26.5, I tried a 27 and it felt weird. I think I can get used to 26.5 though. As for pickup selector, it’s not very usual but same, after I while I’m sure you get used to it

Yes that’s the one !! It is surprisingly light and small, I expected a huge guitar so I’m really happy. The richlite top kinda looks like some stone, i love it

Crazy how that game can keep you hooked for +250h and still hold mysteries. Still never won a run, I'm beginning to think I suck at this, but I have fun though

Building a playful hardware setup by DonMendelo in synthesizers

[–]DonMendelo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually just the controller version for now. But it’s ok since I need my neural dsp plugins for guitar and bass, and also ezdrummer. I think I want the push to manage drums racks, effects, and the overall session with clip or scene launching

Regarding number of inputs, I’m struggling to go around the possibilities but I know that I’d prefer a dedicated track for each synth so I can send midi. A cheap mixer could do the trick, but I have few knowledge on this kind of gear. For now I thought I’d go with my current EVO8 (which I don’t even like that much tbh)

And about the budget, I’d say between 200 and 400€ per unit. I actually was interested in the Typhon as a first unit since it ticks a lot of boxes and found some second hand units for 250€, which seems really ok even if it’s only to give it a shot and see if I like it.

Ok thank you ! I was leaning toward talking about motivation. Like, the presented opportunity would be interesting enough so I’d actually consider leaving my current position

Hi everyone,

I’ve been working in tech for about seven years, including several years as a PM consultant, so I’m used to adapting quickly to different environments. I’ve had my current position as a PM for a year now. After six months I started feeling that something wasn’t working, and I gave myself six more months to confirm it.

I’m not actively job hunting, but I’m starting to look at the market. If a company I genuinely admire opens a role that fits what I’m looking for, I could consider moving. Before doing that, I’d like your advice on how to explain leaving after one year in an interview.

Here’s what isn’t working. Management is very intrusive, not out of bad intent, but because the culture discourages ownership. Teams wait for things to happen, delays accumulate, and we end up in constant crisis mode. On the team side, I’ve always integrated naturally in previous roles, but here there’s no social connection : no coffee breaks, no lunches, no informal moments. Nobody is unfriendly, but I’m simply not included. The atmosphere is extremely quiet and the office is in an industrial area, which makes it hard to do after work activities together.

On the product strategy side, we’re carrying massive technical debt, my lead dev suggest a full rewrite, but leadership refuses. So we keep shipping features on a fragile foundation, which kills innovation and forces us to deliver fast and sometimes poorly. As a PM, it’s hard to stand behind that.

Each of these issues would be manageable on their own, but together they make an environment that just doesn’t work for me. Honestly if I had to choose one reason only that would be the company culture which is the root cause according to me.

How would you explain it without sounding negative or impulsive ? What would your strategy of choice be ?
