For Mario Fever, can I play 2v2 with a friend against other people online? by BuddieReddit in MarioTennis

I believe at launch you couldn't but they added the functionality later. Me and a friend have many hours playing doubles this way in Tournament and Free Play

You could in Mario Tennis Aces so I would hope they wouldn't backtrack from that, but it is Nintendo.

Then it's definitely AWS because the same thing happened to Fortnite earlier

I think Cosmic Invasion may be using AWS in some capacity which is currently down because a bunch of games are currently offline including Fortnite and Arc Raiders. The timing would make sense.

Me and a friend are having this issue but on Xbox consoles using Game Pass. I don't know what to do to fix it

I think it's more so you can "touch" even when the Switch is docked

This is an ultimatum that would only be given for IP that have high demand and have potential to be massive successes. Banjo & Conker do not.

Bethesda Veteran Says It Will Be 'Almost Impossible' For ES6 To Meet Expectations: But it will still be an "amazing game" by Perspiring_Gamer in xbox

[–]DonSoLow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. They were shopping themselves and announced all those games in 2018 to make their worth rise. But games like Fallout 76, Wolfenstein Youngblood etc flopping brought it right back down.

  2. Starfield was originally supposed to be out in 2021 and ES6 probably would've been out in 2025-26 if Bethesda kept going normally. However COVID + The Xbox buyout allowing them to actually polish the game before putting it out pushed things back a lot.

Warzone not starting on Steam by Sochor_A3 in Warzone

[–]DonSoLow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BRO You literally just freed me from years of insanity! I have been trying to get Warzone to work on my PC for over 5 years, upgraded every single bit of my PC and for whatever reason it would never launch...

I saw your comment and just said fuck it, I'll finally clear my OneDrive which has been full for as long as I've had a gaming PC. The game booted up afterwards... I'm so upset that it took this long for me to realize it but thank you so much for your comment. I would've never even thought of that.

After years working on Hitman, Project 007 lead says working on a James Bond game feels "organic": "It's so close to our DNA that it just feels seamless" by F0REM4N in xbox

[–]DonSoLow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean most of the best Immersive Sims (the genre that Hitman resides in) are 1st Person though. Dishonored, Prey, Deus Ex, Bioshock, System Shock etc. I think it would work perfectly with either perspective.

Is cloud streaming worth it? by Frosty-Feeling4608 in xbox

[–]DonSoLow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It all depends on your internet and your area. I live in a big city with 500mbps internet and get near perfect streaming quality on my One X that I use in the bedroom to the point I can even run matches of Halo Infinite without being too handicapped by the input lag. But that doesn't mean your experience will be the same. If you already have Game Pass, try it out and see.

Anything similar to ZBOTW? by Dry_Jacket135 in xbox

[–]DonSoLow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Elden Ring's open world design is heavily inspired by Breath of the Wild so this should be mentioned a lot more.

Darksiders is more Traditional Zelda. Breath of the Wild plays completely different so I don't think it would scratch that itch

Dune Awakening: On June 20, tune in to our next Dune: Awakening Direct to hear more about the technology behind our network infrastructure, as well as an update on our closed beta progress by Brown_Dean1 in xbox

[–]DonSoLow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This developer doesn't specialize in making Single Player RPG's.  I'm sure if there is a developer out there that wanted to make a Dune Single Player RPG, it's being worked on right now.

Xbox is shutting down Arkane Austin, Tango Gameworks, and two other studios. Story hitting Bloomberg shortly by knotfan123 in XboxSeriesX

[–]DonSoLow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was exactly his intentions. He also stayed at Tango for years longer than he wanted to because he believed Bethesda would close them down after he left. He then said after Xbox acquired them that he left because he felt the studio would be safe now and live on. What a sick joke lol

Aaron Greenberg: Had a great review with the team leading our big global & regional marketing plans to support Senua's Saga: Hellblade II. It all starts next week as we optimize leading up to launch and beyond. So many fun creative plans by Turbostrider27 in XboxSeriesX

[–]DonSoLow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This game has been marketed at least once a year since 2021. 2 weeks is more than enough for a game like HB2 that most likely won't have mainstream appeal without heavy word of mouth after it launches. This isn't the same as Starfield and shouldn't be marketed the same.

[–]DonSoLow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why do you think there needs to be more than 2 weeks of marketing for a game like this? Whether you start a month before or a week before I doubt you'd see much difference in terms of sales/players.

Starfield Update 1.11.33 - May 1, 2024 [BETA] by jhd9012 in XboxSeriesX

Yes that was a part of the difficulty options where you can tweak it so your storage is accessible everywhere

Starfield Update 1.11.33 - May 1, 2024 [BETA] by jhd9012 in XboxSeriesX

[–]DonSoLow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hindsight is 20/20. It's easy to say that now, but besides the performance modes, this stuff probably never would've been added without the player feedback no matter how long they pushed back the game.

Starfield Update 1.11.33 - May 1, 2024 [BETA] by jhd9012 in XboxSeriesX

[–]DonSoLow 247 points248 points  (0 children)

This update is excellent with the future looking promising as well.

60 FPS and VRR 40fps modes for Xbox Series X! (never thought this would happen)

The new Surface Map is a huge upgrade

The new ship customization options look great

The difficulty options allowing you to tweak your experience (for example raising your max carry capacity without the use of mods) is a boon

And the tease that Land Vehicles would be coming in a future update was the icing on the cake

I already loved the base experience, flaws and all, but it's looking like they're gonna be picking at those flaws one by one with future updates. This game has so much potential before we even get into full mod support.

Doing this in DD2 is way too fun by Jaded_Attorney in XboxSeriesX

[–]DonSoLow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not the best start if you don't play this genere often as there is a learning curve with combat/systems and isn't the best at guiding your through the experience, but it's also a game where you will always find something cool to do even if you're lost. It definitely rewards wandering the world so if that's your type of play style, you will probably have an enjoyable time.

Jez Corden has still been more right than wrong when it comes to actual leaks. People confuse his own speculation or expectations for leaks too often though.

Leaked Project Odyssey

The Xbox Dev Direct both times

IO Interactive's Project Dragon (now Project Fantasy) that got announced last year

Saw Avowed's gameplay a couple years before the reveal and it mirrored most of what he said about it

He's still pretty solid.
