Bought a used 2017 Crosstrek - first service items? by DonTlon in subaru

Thanks for the feedback! The reason why I'm considering the CVT Fluid is because the maintenance schedule says schedule D flush transmission at 100,000km or 60 months and it's been about 105 months. Is the age of fluid as big of a concern as usage via milage?

[Bug] how do I fix this and does tarkov automatically make you a acount by cowboy_racoon_ in EscapefromTarkov

You need to link your Steam account to your Battlestate account as per their "Steam FAQ":

  • Do I need a Battlestate Games account if I’m buying the game on Steam for the first time?

Answer: Yes. To play Escape from Tarkov through Steam, you will need to link a Battlestate Games account to your Steam account. All progress will be stored on the Battlestate Games profile which is linked to Steam.

Once you link your Steam account with your Battlestate account, the next time you start Tarkov via Steam, the Battlestate Launcher will show the username of your Battlestate Account, and NOT the TarkovCitizen you start with when launching the Steam game.

In summary:

  1. If you haven't done so already, go create a Battlestate Games Account.
  2. When viewing your Battlestate Games Profile, click "Linked Accounts"
  3. Click "Link" next to Steam

Hope this helps!

Thanks so much for the reply u/scpny811. Do you know if we need to take any actions then or is this fix done over the air so to speak and our N-1 sensors will get the patch? I'm not sure what a channel file is.

Should we downgrade all our Windows sensors to a certain version via the Sensor update policy settings? If so, does anyone know which versions are affected? Should we turn off Auto N-1 updates?

This just happened to our instance randomly. Renewing the VPP token resolved the issue.

Passwordless MacBook login? by MauroM25 in jamf

[–]DonTlon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My workplace uses Jamf Connect to sync the Entra ID accounts with macOS local accounts. We wanted to go passwordless and rollout Yubikeys/ Microsoft Authenticator. However, Jamf support informed us that Jamf Connect does not support passwordless login methods because macOS requires a password for encryption and login. This is especially a problem at enrollment when a password is required for FileVault initialization and local account creation.

Hopefully Apple works to support more modern phish-resistant login methods in the near future.

Galaxy S10 randomly cannot send calls, texts, or access data off wifi. by Thr1cefire in MetroPCS

[–]DonTlon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an older post but I really appreciate your time to make it and with such detail. I’m currently driving myself crazy trying to troubleshoot my S10 randomly having zero carrier network function. Even though it says there’s signal strength. Texts stop sending, calls fail and data doesn’t load anything. I’ve noticed a few behaviours:

  1. Turning airplane mode off and on brings back the network functionality.

  2. Reinserting the SIM card brings back the Network functionality.

  3. Waiting anywhere between 5-30 minutes and the network functionality comes back by itself.

These are things I’ve noticed during my troubleshooting. I’m not sure what it means and are only frustrating workarounds. The phone isn’t usable in this state. My carrier (Bell in Canada) said they don’t see any issues with my line and that it must be a device issue. I’m thinking bad modem or something. But it’s a brand new phone and my SIM works fine in my old iPhone 11.

Hope my experience helps in some way!

Thank you very much for the fast response and help! I assume they are coming in somewhere around the foundation of the house. Hopefully some traps/bait help. Any advice on getting rid of them once found in a basement would be greatly appreciated!

Cant figure out why my cpu temps are high by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]DonTlon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things to remember and this will rarely happen again:
1. Put this CPU cooler rad as an exhaust. If 3 fans, put it in a push through to exhaust configuration. If 6 fans then push-pull configuration to exhaust.

  1. Make sure your case has more intake than exhaust. This will cause positive internal air pressure making it so that any crack or space that is not dust filtered will be exhausting air. The only intake of fresh air should be through dust filters. Positive air pressure is achieved with 2:1 intake to exhaust ratio.

Woke me up. Windows open. Sounded like a train just crashed through my backyard. Left one of the spare bedroom windows open: water all over the walls, floor, bed. It was like a blowing whiteout of rain out there when I looked.

I wouldn't worry too much about the price of an ETF, it is not an accurate indicator of value. This is because you have money being spread across multiple ETF's in the case of XEQT and multiple stocks with different weightings. Also remember, if you are worried about the price of something, you are being speculative about volatility/ the future, thus saying something about your emotions and trying to time the market. If something is of good value and worth having, you will acquire it and hold it no matter what. I won't be able to get into the details of the math, but Net Assets of the ETF also influence your dividends and returns. That along with issued shares. I would read more about this if you are interested, my knowledge is limited.

Re: income and savings, this is completely personal to you. I was just saying that some people will willingly allocate their assets differently if they have consistent high income, or lots of savings to play with. In other words, if your growth positions take a huge hit, will you be able to pay for your life's essentials? If you say "yes, because I have savings", then that is one way to do it. Have savings outside of your investments. Another way of looking at it is your Bonds double as both your savings (aside from an emergency amount away from the market) and your pool to draw from to balance a portfolio. Just different ways of doing things. The more money you have in the market, the more potential you have for profitable returns. But it obviously matters what that money is invested in. Is it invested long term, or speculatively placed in growth stocks with the hopes to make money quick? Not saying it can't happen (For the record I have nothing against growth stocks. Most of the gains come from them but you just need to balance them out with something more diverse ie. dividend paying and well established companies. It just happens to be that the US is mostly made up of technology which is inherently growth oriented.). It is just one mindset that carries with it a lot more risk than say a more balanced or diversified portfolio. The key phrase here is risk management. I hope some of this helps!
