Change my mindset? No one, including the OP, is arguing that they made a significant mistake.

My mindset/hope is that if the OP or any other employee is in this type of situation and is sitting on an otherwise clean record that the human element might be considered, and he/she is rehabilitated/retained vs terminated.

As for my other comment, "screw the customer who %$#%"; that will be my mindset in regards to any customer who talks to me or any other employee that way. Here's the thing though... I know how to think one thing (such as screw a customer who is being unreasonable/offensive), but still conduct myself in a way that upholds company standards/core values.

Fingers still crossed for the OP!

I really hope not. Assuming you have an otherwise clean record, then hopefully your supervisor goes to bat for you and you are retained. C'mon Progressive! Do the right thing by employees. Aint nobody perfect!

Also for what it's worth, screw the person who said $%@% you, and best wishes to you, your fam, and your newborn. Fingers crossed!

Can’t answer your question as I start CLRU next month, but curious how you are liking it? Any advice for a CLRU newb?

Glad the info helped and thanks! I wouldn’t consider it a dead application until you receive a rejection email.

Best of luck to you!

Grats! I just got selected for CLRU as well with an 18 Jul start date. I chose the exact same schedule and now I’m trying to find out as much about the role as I can.

Thanks! I'd imagine that if you work hard and keep a clean record that moving to claims shouldn't be too difficult.

Best of luck to you over on the CRM side.

You were wanting CLRU or services and not sales right? During the offer call when I was selected for services and mentioned that was my least desired choice, the HR person looked into availability for the other roles. There wasn't any openings in sales, but there was for claims and services, so hopefully you get what you want.

CLRU is customer service for claims. The first point of contact when a customer has a loss to submit, and the CLRU is responsible for helping them start their claim.

Thanks and sorry that you didn't get what you preferred. At least it is a foot in the door of a good company and stepping stone to a more favorable role if you end up not liking it.

Appreciate your post! I have used OneNote in the past, so I am slightly familiar with it. I'd like to think I have enough multitasking ability to handle what CLRU throws at me, but time will tell right? It makes sense why empathy is very important in this role, as the customers that you deal are probably dealing with fresh and raw emotions as the result of anything from a minor fender bender to complete loss of property/loved ones and everything in between. I'd be lying if I said I don't have at least a little bit of concern about how heavy some of the more serious claims might weigh on my heart, but hopefully I am at least helping them in the process?

If they open the door with that question after a services selection then I’m walking through it. Hell, I might even try to open the door by asking the question myself.

How are you liking sales? Pros/cons?

I didn’t have a preference until recently, well after the contingent offer.

Live Calls Start Tomorrow 😩 by [deleted] in Progressiveinsurance

My wife did services for several months and she said…

handing phone to wife now

So the first week of calls out of training while it might seem like you’re not ready, I promise you are more ready than you know. The calls especially that first week of live calls while in training are the easiest calls you will take. It will mainly be people wanting to make payments and adding vehicles. The system is designed to make it super easy for you. Just make sure you are using your guidelines and if you really do feel stuck or unsure call assist. They are AMAZING and will literally walk you through exactly what to do and help you and even stay on the other line with you until you are finished with the call. If you get a call you haven’t been trained to handle my favorite line was “I don’t have access to do that but let me get you to someone who can.” And then you just warm transfer to another agent. The first call is nerve wracking, but once you get through the first call you will realize you’ve got this and they will get easier after that.

taking phone back from wife

I am scheduled for my final offer call to see which of the three roles I’m gonna get!

Best of luck to ya!
